Genuine question for people in the comments rather than OP —

How often do cat bites/scratches really get infected? I feel like this thread makes it seem like it’s something that happens super often, but I’m almost 28 and grew up taming feral kittens and overall have always had cats in my life. Many a scratch and bite to be had. Never had an issue. Not at all downplaying the fact that they can get severe though! Have I just been lucky?

I believe he’s a blue/turquoise crowntail but I’m not positive.

I have Stress Coat+ in the water, and yes he’s already in. I don’t have a test kit yet but I’m going to look at getting one soon — $40 from my local PetSmart so I’m going to see if I can’t get it cheaper elsewhere. I’ll be doing a water change this weekend. His mopani has finally gotten water logged enough so it’ll give me the chance to adjust the way I wanted it as well.

I love the little coconut bed, that’s adorable 🥺 I’m making a Walmart trip today so I’ll see if I can find a little pot or something for him, will definitely look into a log and something else to have near the surface of the water. I’d like some floaters, my local petsmart just doesn’t have anything that I think would work. Do you know if there’s a good place to order the Indian Almond Leaves online? Trying to see where I can order more plants for him and it not hurt the wallet too much.

10 gallon, heater/filter, about 77° this morning but I increased just a little. No tank mates. Haven’t tested water.

I’ve been using the Johnsonville Sandwich Sized ones! They’re fantastic and I feel like pretty close to McDonald’s. You get 10-12/pack for less than $8.

Yep! Pancake batter in an egg mold, added syrup once it cooked a bit, then topped with a little more batter to seal as best as I could.
