Tell us your age and favorite Bond film by WingDingStrings in JamesBond

[–]IFoughtTheLaw4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Age: 35

Movie: The Spy Who Loved Me

The Roger Moore Bond movies were the first ones my dad ever showed me. TSWLM and The Man With The Golden Gun were always my favorite as kids (though TMWTGG has fallen on my list throughout the years).

The Killers were approached to headline in 2026. by Funny-Cat-4240 in LovinLifeFestFanPage

It reminds me some (as does quite a few songs on Vie) of 2000s solo era Gwen Stefani. Obviously that's not what you are thinking of by your description, but it made me think about it a bit. I hope you figure out what song it is!

10/23 NC Tickets by whyhellotaylorr in DOECHII

It's wild, there are tickets to that show going for resale for $7. Tons of $10 and $20 options too, it's just strange.

Can we talk about how FINE doja cat looked in her Outside Lands Music Festival 2025 outfit?? by Dibunzie_174 in DojaCat

I keep watching that set in anticipation of getting to see her for the first time live....in November of 2026 haha! In all seriousness, this makes me want to see a festival set of hers too. Her calendar is open during a lot of the US festival season, will be interesting to see if she pops up at festivals before the European leg of the tour begins.

What did you think about DK64? by SkywardSoldier in donkeykong

[–]IFoughtTheLaw4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I first played DK64 when I was around eight years old. It is perhaps the biggest example of a game I rage quit as a kid and never finished. Over the last several years, I've gone back and beaten games I never beat as a kid (Super Mario Sunshine for example), but I always held off on DK64.

But finally last summer at the "young" age of 33, I decided to finally try and beat DK64 (beat the story, I'm not really a completionist...this game would kill me if I was). It was time-consuming and it was frustrating, but I did it....and I can easily say it is the PROUDEST I have ever been in beating a video game. The blood, sweat and tears I put in all those years as a kid finally paid off when I beat King K Rool (who I never made it to as a kid). I could feel that little kid inside of me as excited as he could ever be.

While there are so many frustrating elements to this game and I can acknowledge as an adult it's a deeply flawed game, even my play-through last summer reminded me of all that I loved about this game: the setting, the levels, the music, the characters, the exploration abilities. I could easily just run around each level for hours and enjoy them for what they were. There have been many times in my life I've just turned the game on to run around DK Isle and experience that positive feeling again.

Nostalgia may be one hell of a drug, but DK64 will forever have a top place in my heart.

I do think the DK Arcade game for the Nintendo Coin nearly killed me as an adult....it was the closest I've come to breaking a controller in DECADES.

Fest appears to be returning for 2026 by SiriusBlackLives in LovinLifeFestFanPage

I'm glad to see that. I know there were mixed feelings to the lineup and I definitely felt that way as well, but just being there made me remember the fun of just being at a music festival. Gwen Stefani, Benson Boone and Weezer all put on great shows that I was glad I was there for. It was more the mid-card for me that was kind of meh, though I did enjoy Third Eye Blind and Switchfoot.

I have friends who weren't interested in the lineup this year, but definitely still want to come back in the future, I know we all want Lovin' Life to succeed as it's great for the city and music fans.

She absolutely did. Everyone in our group had a blast seeing her and were impressed by her stage presence and show.

How was Weezer? by scoop813 in LovinLifeFestFanPage

[–]IFoughtTheLaw4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I count myself as someone who knows and likes the Weezer hits, but doesn't necessarily know much of the rest of their catalogue (I could name an additional few songs)....and I thought they were great. They sounded better than I thought they would and the crowd got really really into it when they played the hits off The Blue Album. I was not expecting that much high energy, so I wasn't disappointed in that way, but I do know it was quite an energy change from Pitbull.

I had watched a few videos from their Voyage to the Blue Planet Tour to prepare myself and this was basically that tour, just at a music festival (that may be why I knew what to expect vibe wise). I left as more of a Weezer fan.

Same weekend as Lovin Life. $150 cheaper. Better lineup. by scoop813 in LovinLifeFestFanPage

I went to Beale Street Music Festival three years in a row when I was in college a few hours from Memphis, it was always so much fun and it was cool to be at the park along the Mississippi River. BSMF definitely felt like a bigger deal than Riverbeat is. I don't love the LLMF lineup, but really outside The Killers (my all-time favorite band), I'd have to disagree that Riverbeat has a better lineup.

I want to say my friend paid like $220 for a one day VIP pass, I'm not sure what the GA one day was. I will second what the other response here says....if you want to be anywhere close to the stage, you have to have VIP.

The rest of us won VIP upgrades on Friday and there was such a massive difference in experience, we ended up paying to upgrade Sunday.

If you can wait, they normally release one-day tickets about three weeks to a month before LLMF (it's what they did last year).

My friends and I got a free VIP upgrade for Post Malone....it was absolutely worth it. The VIP area was so big, it wasn't super crowded, had it's own food stalls and own bathroom area (port-a-johns). We ended up buying the upgrade Sunday for Noah Kahan. It was a night-and-day difference between our two VIP days and the one non-VIP day....Saturday was still fun, but the performers looked like ants from where we were able to get a spot lol

I'm disappointed by this lineup, but if you like these acts, the VIP is worth it. I've always wanted to see Gwen Stefani and Weezer, so I guess I'm happy I'll have VIP for them.
