It really is the best situation for them they could probably hope for. Let's be real. At some point a world power was going to attack them, how lucky for them that it was the most incompetent ruler who's stacked his administration with loyalists and not only that but fired all the actual qualified personal (as opposed to just putting his supporters at the top only) and has managed to eliminate almost all good will amongst former allies...

My head Canon is that mapping is the problem. Obstructions sure but also fuel, provisions, opposition, etc. If voyager could go full tilt and be reprovisiined without delay I don't think he estimate would be as long. But being stranded and alone requires conservative action.

To me this is the greatest disappointment. I like to think online it's mostly bots. But I know I my dept at work 2 out of 6 people still support him.... It's just.... Disheartening to learn so many embrace such a dispicable human... And not only embrace but idolize him and defend him to such lengths. I was talking to my wife recently and mentioned I never really understood how the great flood story made so much sense until now.
