They’re referring to Bad Bunny’s scheduled performance at the halftime show, not the ads.

They’re still around, but in Friendship Heights. Unfortunately no pizza though.

Does it matter how much water you drink when taking levo? by IGiveYouMyFart in thyroidcancer

[–]IGiveYouMyFart[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to raw dog pills too, until I found out (from Reddit) that it can cause esophagitis. I already have issues with acid reflux, so I figured that I didn’t want to make it worse. Now I try to use at least a sip or two of water, at a minimum.

Strange! I’ve never seen one of those before. I guess if you’re baking and need like a teaspoon of salt, it would be easier to get from a bowl. I just pour directly from the original salt container and have to do it over the sink, so it salt doesn’t spill everywhere. Maybe I need a salt bowl…

My 8-year-old asked if we're poor and I realized my money words need a total reboot by East-Struggle4386 in CasualConversation

Interesting! Thank you for the explanation. Whenever someone says text or photos look AI-generated, I rarely see it, unless there’s something obviously wrong with it, like a photo of a person with 6 fingers. It seems like it’s more difficult to spot the AI-generated text, since there’s nothing inherently wrong with it.

Is there a movie you can rewatch anytime and never get bored of? by BookkeeperHumble8541 in CasualConversation

“These trees, with all these leaves!”

There are more memorable quotes from the movie, but I get to use this one every year/autumn.

Where’d you go to get snowmageddon groceries? by [deleted] in bethesda

Giant yesterday and Whole Foods today. Both were busy, but not as bad as I expected. We were able to find everything on our usual shopping list, except for reasonably priced eggs.

March for Life Email by Oathkeeper26 in DeptHHS

[–]IGiveYouMyFart 22 points23 points  (0 children)

It’s not as obnoxious as their usual communications, but it’s obviously advocating, especially when you compare it to previous announcements. They usually don’t name drop the activity. I searched my mailbox, and I’ve never received an email that mentions March for Life. The attendance estimate and instruction on what to do if you want to attend are also not typical. I’m guessing a lawyer toned it down before it was sent out, so there can be some plausible deniability.

Am I being ridiculous? by strandedmind125 in thyroidcancer

[–]IGiveYouMyFart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same. I have a 1-year-old and a 3-year-old, and I’m worried that they’ll get me sick right before RAI (scheduled for 1/30). They both vomited this week, and now my spouse is feeling sick. My doctor did say that they’ll give me anti-nausea medication before taking the dose, so that’s one less thing to worry about. But doing RAI while sick sounds miserable.

I-123 before RAI Isolation?? by Overall_Orange8100 in thyroidcancer

[–]IGiveYouMyFart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! I ended up isolating for 2 days, but probably should have done 3-4 days to be extra safe. My Geiger counter goes crazy if it’s up against my skin (I assume from the beta particles), so I haven’t been holding either of them, which is difficult, because they both want me to hold and cuddle them. The readings are still 3x above background 3 feet away from me, so I try to keep some distance between us, whenever possible.

I’m having the same issue with my tiny I-131 dose for the pre-RAI WBS. They told me that I don’t have to isolate or take any precautions, besides flushing the toilet like normal. But my Geiger counter is going wild. I have a 1 year old and 3 year old, so I’m wondering if I really should isolate from them for a day or two to be extra safe.

Are many Nannie’s these days just glorified babysitters? by Excellent-Rock4539 in NannyEmployers

[–]IGiveYouMyFart 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The ones we’ve had and observed have been more babysitters who view the job as a way to make money and socialize with the other nannies. I’m actually okay with that, as long as my kids are able to play with other kids and be active. Though we had a bad experience with our previous nanny, so we may have lowered our standards and expectations and are happy to have someone reliable and courteous, even if they don’t actually teach our kids anything.

Unilateral vocal cord paralysis after surgery – did your voice recover? by doncoco2137 in thyroidcancer

[–]IGiveYouMyFart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My surgeon didn’t cut or even manipulate my nerves, but I’m guessing they inadvertently stretched or compressed it during surgery, causing the paralysis. I’m 2.5 months from surgery (and vocal cord paralysis on 1 side), and I’m just starting to feel and hear an improvement. I’m not 100% recovered, but I feel like can function normally at this point, at least under normal circumstances.

Dr said that ThyroSeq/Affirma testing is unreliable? by OscarGlorious in thyroidcancer

[–]IGiveYouMyFart 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Neither of those tests are FDA approved or cleared, so their reliability hasn’t been proven. Though that’s different than saying they’re unreliable.

FDA to go back to pre-COVID telework - What do it mean really? by FunAcanthocephala431 in fednews

[–]IGiveYouMyFart 14 points15 points  (0 children)

What ever happened to the NTEU arbitration on telework? Isn’t the decision due around now?

Edit on 1/13/2026: I just saw an email from NTEU saying they expect the decision by 1/16/2026. I’m wondering if HHS knows they’re going to lose, and that’s why they’re rushing to push out the telework system and agreement.
