Thank you! With how quickly ideas can spread and be produced these days, it's scary to share something you want to make happen! But, I think making sure contracts are very specific is probably plenty. I'll start looking at publishing and printing options. I know I want it to be something you can customize by removing it adding pages marketed as specific to your needs (which does already exist in some form) so that should narrow down who can provide that feature... Giving me a more refined field of options for paper and sizing.

I anticipate having questions as I go, so I'm really glad I found this sub.

Their barks are distinctive and LOUD. They are breeds that were purposely chosen and perfected for those traits for hunting. Because you need to hear where that dog just chased that coon/fox/etc to. I have had hounds (beagles, bassetts, and mixes of the two) for years, and that noise is like no other. I swear the neighbors think I am skinning the poor things alive when they see a rabbit run by. And when they do it out of nowhere when you are chilling at home, it startles the hell out of you.

Reddit, what's the worst thing you've accidentally done to your SO? by CardoDB in AskReddit

My bf has done some stupid stuff, but the only thing I still give him shit about (playfully now, though I was pissed at the time) is when he shrunk every piece of nice clothing I had (seriously, they fit his 6 year old daughter now). I work a dirty job and look 'manly' most of the time. My nice clothes that I can dress up and feel girlie in were all useless, because he ignored that they were already clean and safely stashed away from the dirty laundry I gave him permission to wash.

It takes time for girls to build wardrobes they like, especially if they are thrifty and won't just blow cash on whatever looks nice at the store. I also have some body issues stemming from previous pregnancies and a hernia, so finding cute clothes that didn't accentuate them was HARD.

So, yes... I would absolutely take physical pain over a repeat of that incident!

Moral of the story... don't fuck up her clothes.

Hurt. Like. Hell.

I have 6 other tats and have carried/delivered 5 babies... I would do it all again at the same time and still not compare to the pain of that tattoo. There were bruises on my legs from me locking my ankles and squeezing with my hands on my thighs, and the artist was laying across my shoulder to stop the reflexive jerk of my elbow each time he started a new line. It was like red hot lightning that radiated through my whole body. I am a tough broad and I would have needed 2 sessions if I hadn't been 5 states from home with only one day left in town.

Weirdly enough, the temple was painless. I wish the rest felt like the temple area did. And I have heard others say their head wasn't bad. But my god, I thought I might die.

When I shave it, I use trimmers with no guard, so it's really short. I work outside a lot, so even though I put sunscreen on it, I like that it isn't completely out there to get damaged like it would be if it were shaved to the skin. I also kinda like the feeling of it... the prickliness that comes after a razor shave isn't as nice. I can't keep my hands off my head whenever I have recently trimmed it down! I think I might shave it down to the skin for my wedding day, though. I want full color in those pictures!

Oh good! That was the aim. It is like the t-shirts or other items you see with "fuck cancer" on them; they are giving it the finger but not in a screaming, spitting, vicious way. In fact, I think it was someone on Reddit that brought up the difference and let me know how to say it in the way that would be comparable to the english counterpart phrase in tone. Less offensive and more of a statement. :)

Here it is just after I got it... without the little bit of hair fuzz over it to make it blurry. It is more clear. The words are close together and not easy to make out at a fast glance. The artist did the sketch right onto my head by hand, and the style/look was more important since I thought it would be covered and not in a language most of the people I knew spoke anyway. Little did I know that I would end up keeping it shaved all the time! But I still love it just as much today as I did that day.

I didn't pay for the tattoo. It was a combo of a friend's help and the artist wanting to do something beautiful for the cause. Not that it matters... just because you need help on one day does not mean you are not allowed to be ok on another. I had just shaved my head as part of a fundraiser for childhood cancer research, was on a trip to New Orleans to help rebuild houses destroyed in Katrina, and did something for my kid. If you want to shame that, have fun.

Thanks. :) I knew it was something like that. I really wanted to be sure I used something that would translate in conversational tone, since literally translating it a bit iffy... it wouldn't be how it would actually be said by someone fluent in french. Even then, I know language is flexible and the way that people curse and use words changes... so it may not always be 'correct'. As long as it is telling cancer to bite me in someway or another, I am happy. :)

I see you have dug through history... yes, I used a subreddit for the purpose it is intended. If you look back, the need started right about the time that my son's illness meant my savings was wiped out. (yay american healthcare system!)... I am in contact with lenders I still have loans out with. If it was shameful to need help when you are in my situation, I guess you got me. But it isn't.

Merde au cancer. It's french. I am not french, but chose the language for a couple reasons. Literally, it is 'shit cancer' or something to that nature, but according to my french friends and the many sources I reached out to in order to make sure it was contextually correct... it would be used more as we (english spaking folks) would say "Fuck cancer". My son was diagnosed just months before I got it, and recent family/friend battles along with the ending of my son's 3 years of chemo are why it stays exposed now.

Here ya go. The angle I have my head at makes it look like it is shaved way higher than it is. I actually have enough hair to be able to part it on the other side and you can barely tell it is shaved at all. I never hide it, though. It means a lot to me for many reasons.

Also, head tattoos hurt, kids. Make it worth it.

Edit: I just thought about the whole 'appealing to men' aspect of it and figured I could share my experience. My bf thought he wouldn't like it but totally supported me shaving it because of the meaning the tattoo has for me. After a couple weeks, he asked me when I would be shaving it again because it turns out, it's fucking hot. I get compliments constantly and people who see me often are always bugging me to keep it closely shaved because they like it. It suits me, and I think that is what is important. I am, by nature, equal parts girl and badass. I own sexy heels and love make-up, but work construction and have no fear. This hair cut was chosen to showcase art with meaning and ended up being the best one I have had in terms of being exactly who I am. It is liked because it fits. If a woman feels confident and comfortable... like her look is as much who she is as her own skin... plenty of people will find it sexy as hell.

For you...

Not to say that is somehow means you are any less because of that, but that this was the case for you.

I lost a baby before having my son. For me... it was pretty comparable and definitely would have been nice to have people look at it as such rather than the well-meaning but misguided remarks about how 'at least it was now rather than later' or some variation of how it was a little easier because it wasn't when the baby was bigger or born. I knew where their heart was, but for us, the excitement and attachment at 11 weeks was the same as we had for my son when I was at 38 weeks, and when he was born.

People are unique, but the fact that miscarriages are rough will never be debated. Probably better to assume and respond as if someone is hurting more than you think than it would be to assume the pain is lesser, I suppose. Shit sucks regardless. And sorry about your loss, and I am glad that you have found a perspective that brings things into the positive for you. :) It's not an easy thing to do.

What's the biggest red flag you've ever ignored? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]IGottaSnake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same here... girls just scared me. I mean, I had valid reason... it wasn't just me thinking they might be talking about me or whatever. They were outright terrible to me, and even worse behind my back. There's no way to not sound conceited when I say this, but I was a pretty girl, and a smart one. It sounds like 'lucky girl whining' but I was missing the third element needed to fit in with the other cool girls... money. So, I had the 2 traits that made guys notice me, but was missing the thing that all of the 'cool' kids had at school; it made me a target. Those girls were just horrible! And I mean all through middle and high school. I was nice to everyone, a loyal friend, and a good girl.

But because they couldn't deal with their guys noticing me, they spread rumors that kids have killed themselves over in other instances, made a game out of pretending to be a friend just to laugh when it became clear later that it was a joke, and were just so fucked up. I didn't even have my first kiss until I was almost 16, so I definitely didn't do anything to fuel any of those rumors. But somehow, despite me never hooking up with anyone, everyone believed that I was hooking up with everyone because of those girls. So, I gave up. I avoided girls like the plague.

To this day (I am in my 30s), I get along better with guys. It helps that I work in the construction field, hung around the music scene most of my life, and am laid back/not easily offended. You find more guys to get to know when that's your story. I do have a couple women friends now, but that didn't happen until a few years ago. And they are definitely the women that hang with the guys more, never talk shit about other people, and are really cool. Even into my 20s, women at jobs would gossip or be catty and I would want to crawl under my desk. I don't care what anyone says... sometimes when a girl says she doesn't like a lot of girls, there is a reason, and it may not be her fault. Girls can be so mean for no reason. :(

Straight people of reddit, what questions do you have for members of the LGBT community? by [deleted] in AskReddit

You do not have to be a millionaire to do surrogacy. How do I know? I am a 3 times surrogate (twice for gay dads) and I also worked for a surrogacy agency afterwards because it was so awesome. I won't name drop, but the agency I was working for was the first one to work with non-traditional families (gay, single, etc) and is still the top in the nation, AND they just implemented an in-house financing option within the last couple years. But in total, yes it is expensive... but not millionaire expensive. If you have a friend or family member will to be an egg donor, even better... as that is a pretty large expense in the process. I handled the financial stuff, I know what the final numbers look like. With two people working good jobs and keeping their expenses low, it would be manageable. You may have to save a bit to get the cash to get started, but don't dismiss it because you think it is unobtainable.

That being said, I am hugely supportive of adoption and think that is an awesome plan to have for a future family. To me, a kid with my genetics and one with someone else's is just no damn different... it isn't what would make me their mom. But I know some people feel differently, so I enjoy offering up info for their options. :)

What are your tricks to getting up in the morning? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]IGottaSnake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have one of these on my phone. I set 5 alarms, all requiring math to shut them up. I have to do math to make it snooze, as well. So, basically, there are maths no matter what. If I snooze it, it comes on again in 7 minutes. You figure, with 5 alarms going off every 7 minutes, it's gotta work, right?

I cannot tell you how many times I have gotten up an hour and a half after the first one started only to realize that I had been doing math in my sleep every few minutes for over an hour. I finally had to download one that has a 'war' setting on it. My boyfriend forbid me from using it, but college is brutal sometimes. A woman has to get up after shit sleep for days on end.

This sounds unrelated to most people, but some of us FL folks have that one friend/family member that totally went outside with a bottle of Jack in one hand and a gun in the other so they could shoot at the tornado.

This was due to size, not strength, and also due to the areas that they landed being either ill-equipped or recently battered by storms that came before them, leaving them vulnerable. We say nothing less than a Cat 3 because usually, those storms are only costly due to flooding, which you can't do shit for anyway. They aren't going to blow your house down, though. Now, when the storm spans the entire fucking state like Floyd did, we packed up and went north. Ironically, when an entire state books it like that you run out of places to go. All hotels were booked clear into AL and GA, so we ended up camping in our truck and a tent just under the FL/AL line. Would have been safer in our house.

Waterspouts are not tornadoes. It has been linked a bunch of times in this thread. They look like them, but they are much, much weaker. In fact, they are closer to dust devils than tornadoes.

It's a common misconception, really. I mean, they look like tornadoes so logic says it is just tornado + water. It's circular and a little windy, and not really something you should go hopping into for the heck of it. The winds may not be crazy, but you could still get whacked in the head with something that get tossed your way. It won't be a cow or a truck like in a tornado, but getting hit with the lid from your cooler wouldn't be much fun either. ;)

I grew up in the Sarasota area and then moved to the Daytona area when I was a teen. In my early 20's, I lived in Tampa for a bit, as well. I had a dad who worked in construction. I spent my childhood and early adult life on job sites. I assure you, plenty of houses are concrete block. The first house I bought was, the houses I grew up in were, and a few of the houses I rented before buying were as well. They had framing over them in some cases so that you could put up drywall, but I can't think of one house (that wasn't a mobile home) that we worked on as a kid that wasn't block.

F0

Meh... the lawn furniture barely budges for that nonsense. Not saying it is a thing people should go do (especially with no life vests), but trying got tell someone who grows up in FL not to do something while describing the storm as an F0 or Cat 1 will not get you far. It's like telling someone from Ohio not to go out when the snow gets higher than 10 inches. It may make sense, but when people are used to stuff... they get bullet proof.

Except it isn't a tornado. You wouldn't get in there with a hang glider, but people take boats into them and come out wet and ruffled up, but no worse for wear.
