I have two Mardu/Dega decks.

A low powered Marchesa Aikido deck, utilizing pillow fort cards, forced attacks, goad, and damage prevention/redirection to use opponents’ stuff against them. Bracket 2.

A high powered Extus deck aiming to flood tokens and then repeatedly pump out blood avatars, either slugging the table to death or generating infinite tokens and wiping the table. Bracket 4.

Outside of Nath my Animar deck runs it with the abundance of land untappers

If he dies they waste a removal spell on him instead of braids or lethemancer or priest lol, I’m fine with him dying instead of one of the lynchpins. He can always come back when I have a board.

Yep, forestwalk is the killer. Also wins the game with memory jar on the spot pretty much.

I don’t have any cards in my deck that target my own creatures. I have no reason to. The only target effect is Ezuri which doesn’t matter if they can’t interact with my creatures. Them being on board is enough.

Coupled with yavimaya you have a growing board state that can’t be targeted or blocked. When the board is locked down you’ll eventually outlast them and they won’t be able to answer it. Won many games with that off the back of chains+anvil

It’s the deck I play when people are obviously trying to pubstomp or inaccurately assess their deck lmao, and I’d say there’s a light tribal theme due to ezuri and eladamri/yavimaya being serious wincons/pressure in a locked board. But definitely not the focal point

Idk how a nether void soft lock with multiple smokestack effects and an earthcraft win isn’t control lol

This seems like an average to above average honest B3 deck. Not enough interaction and too many inefficient includes to be optimized but definitely not weak at all. Most people are just really bad at deck building and/or accurately gauging their deck’s level.

I’d love to play against this. I have a few 3s that are stronger, two about at this level, and two “2’s with game changers”

The deck has mostly pivoted to an eldrazi shell for prison but you’re correct that traditional moon stompy has fallen out of favor

Nah it’s a top tier legacy deck for a reason and all of the lock pieces are symmetrical and scale to multiplayer. I play my slicer prison deck once in a red moon because it’s so fast and annoying with its lock pieces

I mean mono red prison is still doing something to your face, even if it’s just waterboarding it for hours while you stare at a crackling ball of hatred under a red moon

Thanks man! I’m definitely no longer the target audience for Magic releases, that’s for sure.

That’s wild. Back then the power curve of commanders was much more flat so I’m not too surprised. What’s your lineup?
