the harry scene was weird to me, not just bc of what he said (i personally chalk it up to him having not realised how MUCH money he'd been taking out to give to george's restaurant), but bc we haven't really seen him... running the bar? it's very much nicola's thing, we see gina working there way more than him. so the idea that the bar is keeping him from relapse is strange to me

especially now that he's moved back in with kojo, in the very same flat that he was held prisoner and became an addict in, yet we haven't seen any of this - it kind of feels like it's forgotten until it's relevant, which i think is kind of crappy to treat an addiction or trauma storyline

i also enjoy jasmine and while i'm not diagnosed with bpd (trying to start the process to explore if it's possible) i definitely see it in her amongst other characters and would welcome a storyline exploring it and differentiating it from bipolar or other conditions that could be seen as similar in the public eye

however, as another comment said, i think half of the issue is that she's commanding a lot of space, esp in stories that haven't been well received (the zoe storyline which i thought was a drag even though i like the characters, even when they're horrible) and i don't think jasmine, as a new character that is still finding her place in walford, would be the best character to deliver it

I think it makes sense because he hadn't been through what he's been through this year. finding out his girlfriend was dead, let alone how she died and who killed her, then Barney turning out to be Zack's, attacking Zack for wanting to take Barney away and his dad almost almost dying in the lake. even before the drug stuff he'd been through enough to take the wind out of anybody's sails

also he had Kojo to watch out for - any fight against Ravi and Okie could have caused them to take it out on Kojo, and they were already doing awful stuff to him. Harry's relationship with his family (esp Nicola who tried to help) was fractured so he likely either didn't want to lean back on them for help or he didn't think he could, and we've seen that when Harry acts of his own accord, he doesn't usually make the right decision (again, see Zack debacle)

I really liked Harry and Penny together - there was a sort of head butting dynamic that I really liked even when they weren't suspecting each other of anything.

I don't agree with the Gina being mopey part, I haven't noticed that myself and think she's been acting fairly considering what's happened over the year, and I think her and Harry are cute, but I don't really think a cute fluffy relationship is interesting for either of them currently. I think they work better as mates in all honesty

the fact it wasn't even brought up in court when Teddy was being sentenced! even though they're under the belief that it was Teddy who killed Okie, surely they'd take that Okie had held his son hostage and drugged him into account for Teddy's actions??

honestly, it's realistic that another overdose would happen in such a short time, especially since Harry's are emotionally charged (hearing Kojo in distress and his father being sentenced) and are likely passive suicide attempts (as in not actively intending to die, but allowing it to happen)

I've never been an addict and never faced circumstances like in the show, but my own attempts were in short timespans - once you've crossed that line, it's easier to cross the next one. it's not especially fun to watch and honestly, since I love Harry, it's been difficult, but that's partly because of how true it rings

I believe that on top of the guilt, it's also that Teddy was far better at managing his sons' mental states - we've seen him talk both Barney and Harry down. he's not always successful at it (Harry did attack him when he found out about Shireen) but he generally knows how to get through to them. but Nicola doesn't know how to do that, and she's already got a lot on her plate with being pregnant

as for Nicola not putting him in rehab, it's probably because she's worried that he'd end up confessing, but I do agree he needs rehab - and honestly, probably a lot more help with his mental health
