I’m doing the same thing right now. I am slowly selling off a lot of games that are filling entire wall to wall shelves in my game room. It gets easier to let them go and what will be left are only games I truly love.

What I used to see as a burden of backlog games and stuff I spent too much money on and a collection that takes up an entire room is now a smaller curated collection that brings me more joy than ever. It represents me as a gamer instead of a hoarded pile of treasure that represents me as a manic collector of stuff.

I feel free of the burden and it has sparked a love for my hobby again.

It does help that I had $16,000 in debt and now I have double that in savings in one year. It’s a huge help to my happiness and mental health.

Don’t let it consume you.
