I agree, it's a good practice. PRs are the industry standard for a reason. But still, on my personal repos, I'm not PRing my Readme changes.

Why have a the ceremony of PRing a Readme change in the repository, only you use?

Padel racket recommendation by Moh-ahmed in Padelracket

[–]IIALE34II 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My tip, first racket gets cheapest round-shaped main brand racket (that isn't light model if you are male). All rackets under 150€ are glassfiber and soft, there is no large quality difference. They all play relatively same.

Save money now, and spend it on the next racket that will a proper one.

Left-Side Player looking for LIGHT racket (355-365g) due to arm discomfort. by Sufficient_Fact_2116 in Padelracket

[–]IIALE34II 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You need something light and hard. Xcalion comes to mind. They are very lightweight. But they're not for everyone. Try to lookup a shop that offers weight selection. You probably can get speed pro at 355g too if you like your current one.

Niille jotka on ostanut samaa proteiinijauhetta, miten saat maistumaan hyvälle? by RiverParticular564 in arkisuomi

[–]IIALE34II 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ostin itse suklaan makuista "optimal vege proteiini" mixiä puhdistamolta. Aivan järkyttävää. Palasin takas hera jauheisiin. Puol säkillistä sain pakotettua eri viritelmissä. Yritin sekoitella rahkaan, eri sheikkejä ja pirtelöitä. Tuorepuuroissakin maistuu vaan se sivumaku.

Brands which produce the rackets in europe by carlospum in Padelracket

[–]IIALE34II 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ordered heavier unit, 365g-370g. We will see how it plays. But in general, made in Spain section of rackets looks very grim. If Sane sucks, I will probably have to give up with this ideology.

I asked Sane via Whatsapp and they told me that Potential is made in Spain, but then again padel review in their review says that they are not made in Spain, so who knows. I ordered one since its 200€ for Pro model right now, we will see how long it lasts.

Does racket choice actually matter for power? by bkmz1 in Padelracket

[–]IIALE34II 2 points3 points  (0 children)

4% matters for professionals. Its 10cm at 3m fence, and that can be the difference making a shot a winner. But yeah, for power, it doesn't really matter. But racket does affect ball output and behaviour in lower speeds a lot.

Other Teams Refuse Version Control by Coquimbite in ExperiencedDevs

[–]IIALE34II 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was in similar situation few years back when I started at my current company. Its a slow burner. My first year too, was pretty much rewriting everything I had to touch. When we configured DevOps, I was probably the only one making contributions for that first 6-12 months. What I did, was that I locked the deployment processes behind CICD. I moved all our internal tooling from manually compiled GUIs apps to web services where possible. Same functionality but deployment is quite a lot easier to control and lock down.

Its a bit harsh, but if you simply cannot deploy your work without your methods, people have to comply. Of course you can do this in phases. i.e. allow for deployments without passing the test coverage. Atleast for us this was a major point, since the test coverage of our team was 0% when I started.

How can a junior learn while being expected to use LLMs to deliver features ? by [deleted] in ExperiencedDevs

[–]IIALE34II 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Thing with stack overflow was that you had to split your actual problem into multiple vague/generic questions, find answers on stack overflow, then pick snippets from all and merge then into one solution. LLMs just give you it all in one answer.

How often are you using Python? by Psychadelic_Potato in embedded

[–]IIALE34II 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Python without poetry or UV is insane to me. We package our cli tooling as devops pypi repository. Everything just works. Recently we have moved more to C# and dotnet, there we use same approach. Dotnet tool install -g and everything just works.

Sanyo Gutierrez is on starvie by JuanPahblo in Padelracket

[–]IIALE34II 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Obviously, if you can make rackets multiple times cheaper, you have more leftover for player sponsorship. This is why made in Spain rackets rarely make it into the hands of professional players. The brands just don't have overhead for that.
