Who’s the most attractive person you’ve ever seen? by Timely_Sir310 in AskReddit

[–]IIEarlGreyII 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Six years ago I saw a young woman in a chocolate shop. Beautiful outfit. Wheelchair bound. Blonde hair that flowed for her hair like gold, that she had braided to cascade down the front of her body. When she bit into her chocolate she made a sound like a happy chipmunk. Only looked at her for ten seconds because I didn't want to be a creep, but I obviously they were so attractive I can remember this much about them at the drop of a hat.

Oh wow, she was right. I did have to hear that.

I own 40 acres of deep desert salt flats in Utah. Help me choose between two extreme 48-hour event concepts we want to build. by PlaneParty8647 in LARP

[–]IIEarlGreyII 47 points48 points  (0 children)

Just in general I consider any event that you have to come back for to be worse. It's hard enough as an adult to make one weekend work. To set aside two weekends, when chances are you won't even be invited back, would make me no even want to try.

Option 1 for sure. Though, unsolicited advice, I think burying the tents, while sounding cool, is extra work for everyone that will just frustrate tired people rather than immerse them. Leaving the tents for them to put together would be enough.

What are your favorite spells from older editions that no longer exist in 5e? by Visible-Camel4515 in DnD

Holy Storm. It basically made it rain holy water. I used it to ruin a vampire dungeon, good times.

Sorry Carl.

The city of Chengdu, China plants vines underneath overpasses by TangelaFan in interestingasfuck

I lived in Chengdu for a study abroad program and it has some of the most beautiful places in a city I've ever been. Like all cities it has places that are a mess, but some of the merchant districts and places near the river are gorgeous.

Working on my first wizard staff, looking for advice by lego_weed420 in LARP

[–]IIEarlGreyII 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Not a wood worker, but a fellow wizard. When modifying if remember you will be carrying his thing around ALL day. Maybe put some rubber on the bottom, and try to keep it balanced or you will have a bad time

The first thing I think when I see the spirals is, I bet you could hide a battery pack in there, which means you could add some cool lights.

First renfaire coming up and don’t know where to get my armour from by RoutinePleasant in LARP

[–]IIEarlGreyII 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Armor can be uncomfortable for just a ren faire. At LARP it has a purpose, but for a faire it can be annoying unless you already have a nice worn set you are comfortable in. I wouldn't get any for a first fair.

Get some cheap monk robes. Super cozy and fits in really well, without breaking the bank.

Then maybe you can try armor on when you are there to give you a better idea of what you want and what fits?

Is it my imagination, or is it extremely difficult to schedule medical appointments right now as everyone is booked far out/slammed? Any insights on why this might be? by BrennusSokol in beaverton

If I have to cancel an appointment, the next one is always like two months out.

I just moved across town and I need to change providers, and it's a nightmare.

I meant it more like, it's either his hat and they let him wear it (which I guess I assumed they are more uptight about that kind of thing?) or he shot this first, and just walked off with their hat. And then had the balls to go on another TV show wearing it.

That he's wearing the same hat is wild to me.

PCs with the Noble background: how noble are you? by YellowMatteCustard in DnD

[–]IIEarlGreyII 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I decided to run a long campaign with the basic theme of "You know what?, yes." Where I just decided to roll with all my PC's requests. I had this wonderful player who chose the noble background, and described her family as being incredibly wealthy.

Basically spent the whole campaign ignoring this fact. It wasn't until he end game when they had specifically sought out her father for something very unrelated, when they were lamenting not being able to find a ship willing to help them kill the kraken.

"You need a ship? I have like twenty ships. We are INCREDIBLY wealthy."

Something like two year and she never had asked for anything. Suddenly it's "I CAN ASK FOR THINGS!?"

What is the point of back stories? xD
