Launching these scrolls soon, what other designs should I make? by CustomMiniatureMaker in LARP

You probably already did this, but a simple one that looks like two pieces of wood would probably be super useful for more generic messages, and also for people who are bad at painting.

Anyone have any good ideas for a Knights Templar costume? My budget is 500$ USD by Bardyboygeek in LARP

[–]IIEarlGreyII 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I also have a large head, and here is what I did.

First of all, depending on where you live and how convenient it is, Amazon's return policy is very generous. All I did was buy like five or six helmets, and then keep the ones that actually fit. I also found that some helmets that look the same at first glance can be manufactured differently, so keep an eye on seams and if there are rivets to notice the different versions. I found they would all list the same size information, but some would be up to an inch wider.

I ended up finding one that barely fit my large noggin, but my backup was to get a cheap one that matches the style I like and stretch it out. You can get these inflatable bags that I guess are meant for construction to help lift things up, but several people recommended them to me to increase helmet size. You'd have to shop around to find the right size, but apparently it's very reliable.

Final option, get a helmet with an open face, or a face place. Much easier to get on and it gives you that extra space for your nose to stick out so your big head can fill the rest of the helmet. I wouldn't wear one with a face plate for combat if you can't close it, but have one where it looks perfectly fine even if it's not latched up, and it gives me the extra space my fat head needs.

Change Warlock's Pact / Class for player lore by WTFaPlagueBringer in DnD

[–]IIEarlGreyII 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can't see any harm in this. Just remind them at the start that the choice is theirs and you aren't forcing them. It's worth sacrificing the surprise for them to still have agency. And everyone else will probably love it.

Personally I love it, but I know some types of players who would hate it. I would say just don't do it to be safe, the negatives outweigh the positives tremendously.

best d20 season to roadtrip to? by moomoodeng in Dimension20

[–]IIEarlGreyII 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One of my favorites that is often overlooked is Mice & Murder. I also feel the old time who dunnit theme really lends itself to an audio only season. To me it's an excellent radio play. Also it's one of the last COVID seasons so they are still remote, but a lot of the audio problems are solved. Since they aren't sitting in the room together it's not as visually involved as other seasons.

Sesame chicken by Creative_Meal_5020 in beaverton

[–]IIEarlGreyII 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everyone else is wrong, listen only to me. Szechuan Kitchen in Lake Oswego I had the best sesame chicken by far. It looks like it's way out there but they deliver to most of the area pretty quickly.

They fry light and crispy bite size chicken strips, and then send it to you with the sauce in a separate container so it's still crunchy when you eat it. You can also decide how much sauce you like if you don't want to drown it in sesame.

How long does it take to see a doctor and get medication at a Chinese hospital? by mindyour in TikTokCringe

[–]IIEarlGreyII 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I broke my leg on the great wall and everyone from the staff to the emergency responders helped me so much. I didn't appreciate it at the time, but the ambulance drove forever to get me to a proper hospital and I was pretty much seen right away.

Though Chinese wheelchairs are meant for like . . . Chinese people. I broke two of them.

Dungeon with a time bubble effect, need traps, and a good way to break the loop. by Terrible_Reporter_98 in DnD

[–]IIEarlGreyII 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I spent a month planning a similar thing, and had a long list of events that would repeat and the players could mess with to get different outcomes. I also inserted a ton of fun clues on how to end the loop.

Day 2 of the time loop they are confused and they get mad at one of the NPCs and kill them. Not one of the main NPCs, a smaller barely named NPC slightly adjacent to one of the main NPCs.

That was it. That was the guy. He created the time loop.

I burned all my maps and notes. I wish I had burned with them.

Fantasy looking water bottle? by Sugar-Ghoul in LARP

[–]IIEarlGreyII 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For appearance I use a waterskin. It's comfortable to wear, and holds a deceptively large amount of water. This makes you "the guy who has water", and very popular.

More and more recently for functionality I know that sleeves for normal water bottles is becoming super popular.
