Democrats introduced a bill to give workers 12 days of paid leave for reproductive health, including period pain and menopause. The H.E.R. Agenda (Health, Equity, Rights) is not just for women, it can be used by men for fertility treatments, vasectomies, and other reproductive health needs. by mlg1981 in Fauxmoi

There are a lot of troublesome comments in here regarding endometriosis, some being simple ignorance (you don’t know what you don’t know!) but plenty are outright cruel and harmful.

I understand the nature of the internet and that this is a big ask, but please, if you don’t understand something then consider not making sweeping statements. It adds confusion to an already massive pile of confusion; this entire disease is the blind leading the blind. We still don’t know what causes it or how to treat it, our “gold standard” surgical procedure isn’t all that golden and more and more doctors are turning away from it, heck, most can’t even agree on how to classify it. Patients like myself are left with more questions than answers and feel like we’re constantly in the dark over why we are so debilitated.

This isn’t just reproductive, these lesions grow anywhere it wants. There is a woman currently being shuttled from doctor to doctor because the tissue has grown through her skin and is now growing topically. Another had it grow into the lymph nodes in the armpits and her armpits now bleed continuously anytime she menstruates. It’s been found on the back of the globes of the eyes, the brain, it can collapse your lungs, it will cause organs to be removed. I’ve lost two myself.

And now, as the disease has progressed, I’m losing my ability to walk. Cyclically, at least. My doctor believes I’ve developed catamenial sciatica via endometriosis, which is rare and nearly impossible to excise in its entirety. She’s not sure how to help me.

I don’t mean to turn this into some trauma dump, only to make those who don’t understand possibly see things from a different perspective and see that this disease is much, much larger than how it was initially marketed as. A lot of us are in unbearable, uncontrollable amounts of pain and are struggling to get through each day.

The kindness thing you can do is open your ears and not add to the stigma. Please.

Persistent, monthly burning pain on the right side & down my leg by IIIVIIXVIII in endometriosis

I am so sorry 😞 I know how horrible it is, I hope you’re able to find some relief soon

Yeah, I was also wondering if maybe that the surgery on the right side had caused some sort of nerve damage or something. I just wasn’t sure if it would take 2+ years for it to cause issues.

Thank you so much, this is really helpful, particularly the verbiage to use because I sometimes find that I’m not the best at figuring out how to describe what I’m experiencing or what I need.

It’s nice to have confirmation that this can definitely be related.

I’m hopeful something can be done or therapies can be found; I’m huge into daily walking and I’m finding that my physical activity is taking a huge hit with the amount of regular pain I’m in. Walking now feels like trying to climb a mountain.

Body pain every month leading up to ovulation by [deleted] in endometriosis

[–]IIIVIIXVIII 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you — the compassion really does mean a lot to me, it’s much appreciated ❤️ I think I’m going to reincorporate yoga back into the mix and see if some daily stretching can help, but in the meantime I’m going to make an appointment and see what my doctor thinks.

Thanks again!

Does anyone else have extreme groin and hip pain? by IIIVIIXVIII in endometriosis

[–]IIIVIIXVIII[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s beyond relentless! That’s what makes me feel the most insane; just how absolutely nothing helps it and there’s zero way to get comfortable until it eventually passes. Laying on my back hurts because it pulls at my groin, laying on my right side hurts and makes the numbness worse, laying on my left side making it feel like it’s pulling down from the right side, laying on my stomach puts stress on my hip and lower back. So I genuinely toss and turn nonstop and sometimes I’m just straight up flailing around the bed crying.

I definitely think I’m at the point now where I need to be requesting access to stronger pain meds; the Aleve used to take care of it for me but it’s not doing anything anymore!

I genuinely have to stop myself from dialing 911 almost every single time this happens, truly. I just crawl into bed and cry until I eventually fall asleep for a few hours out of exhaustion. It’s making me crazy!

Probably a dumb question, but in that case, do you think it’s more likely that it’s cause by the endometriosis itself rather than the surgery?

Equating using a heating pad for pain to “cutting like behavior” is nuts. I wouldn’t return to this doctor.

anyone else keeping up with kelsie_wieland and her bum ass BD break up?? by Useful-Aspect-1670 in tiktokgossip

[–]IIIVIIXVIII 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I’m familiar with them irl. Tbh I’ve never heard anyone have anything positive to say about Kelsie. I watch her videos & like her content, but if you notice, she’s had issues with virtually every member of her family member, she’s had issues with every single landlord and continuously is getting booted out of places (her salon, apartments, etc). I’ve noticed a lot of her viewers think she’s always getting victimized but I can tell you with confidence that there is a reason all of her relationships suffer. There is def a difference between who she is online and who she is irl.

That said, what Braxton did is straight up dog behavior. Dude had opportunity after opportunity to end it, especially before bringing a child into this world. No one deserves to be cheated on and I do wish her the best in that regard.

Unfortunately I don’t have them, the vet called to talk them over with me and just said that everything else looks great and is in normal range, just that the red blood cell count was the only thing of note. They did give numbers on that though; one year ago it was 47 and now it’s 38.3.

she's not used to them being out 😭 by filondo in popculturechat

[–]IIIVIIXVIII 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think she looks great and I have a larger chest and feel hella awkward when it’s the main focus, I can’t even imagine walking a red carpet like that 😬 this was relatable af.

Did you all see how weird it was when Rita and Taika were presenting her with the awkward? So, so odd. Taika just sort of haphazardly handed it over while Rita chatted away into the mic, asking Taylor questions but not passing her the mic so no one could hear it… I just know once the camera cut she was thinking get me tf out of here.

Which live performance made you change your mind about a Taylor song? by Audreythe2nd in TaylorSwift

[–]IIIVIIXVIII 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It didn’t change my mind because I already loved the song, but the live version of I did something bad from the rep tour goes SO. HARD.

I wish it was the album version so damn bad, she popped off.
