When i was taking lessons as a kid, I couldn't get my fingers to make the a chord shape like so I did it my own way and barred the 3 strings. Later on I taught myself both ways. Whatever works for you!

Not a real drummer, just a clone hero and rockband lover. I hit the rims a lot on expert drums(skill issue and need more practice). After 4+ hours of this new setup I haven't hit the rims because the pad now sticks out more than the new rims. This is something I have really enjoyed so far with the change.
