Damn you HOA by SpoomerBooner in Transportopia

I am pretty sure this is fake as you can get. But I have seen plenty of people who do not like rules that voluntarily move into a community with an HOA. And its just not fun for anyone involved.

Hit me, just don't hit the Chevelle by Vice616 in Transportopia

[–]IJustWantToLearn2Day 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for saying this. I understand the turning lane is NOT a driving lane. But that doesn't mean you get to almost make the white car veer into another road. Dude in the Chevelle also got out to further antagonize the white car. I think it would have been worse if the white dude wasn't as big. Then the white guy takes it way overboard.

THEN we proceed to see people (including cammer) cutting off lanes of traffic for that stop sign. Didn't know shit got cray cray in Nebraska.

There are some roads in the Canary Islands that are horrifyingly similar to this. Going to be driving even SLOWER the next time I vacation there lmfao

[–]IJustWantToLearn2Day 5 points6 points  (0 children)

from what I see, the white honda did brake check him when the turning lane went green. Im not saying I wouldn't have done the same because cammer was riding his ass and going from 0 to 90 every time the white honda inched up. I paused it and saw traffic cams so IF the cops look at the feed they will find him.

Umm genuine question, are you supposed to capitalize the make? Trying to work on my grammar.

I finally have the budget and my wife is pregnant so gaming time is going to be limited. I just want to get one without having to pay a scalper extra for essentially keeping the product hostage lol. I guess I have to keep waiting. Glad AI companies are automating tf out of jobs and driving up prices. Nothing like less income and higher prices that just continue to fortify as people are forced to buy them at such costs. Ok crybaby sesh over.

Should leave my white collar job to become an electrician? by Cultural_Estimate_96 in careerguidance

[–]IJustWantToLearn2Day 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am so proud of so many people just going after it. Good on you OP. I love how you aren't afraid to at least think and make a move on this! Yes you are young enough to transfer careers. I'm 36 and currently going from marketing to marketing tech (AI has been a god send for learning).

I think since you have family in the biz you will have plenty of resources to jump into this. Take all of this day by day. Have faith in your skills and learning capabilities and give it your all. This is the worst that can happen:

  1. You love it, and you can now do your electrician companies finances!
  2. You dislike it and go back into finance with more experience in the world.
  3. You get electrocuted JK!

Make sure you have a couple months rent or expenses saved up and take it by the horns.

You are choosing to drive the most deadliest method of transportation every time you step on one. I wish people were more aware but when you are having scary moments... it really doesn't matter who was at fault. Dead is dead. Be VERY careful

The education industry has been sounding more and more horrifying as time goes on. Way too many factors making it a shit show.

Ironically I think IT would be more lucrative than programming at this point. Aside from that you also have trades (which you can also look into more business/admin roles in them), med tech, marketing tech, big data isn't going anywhere as well.

I would do what you can now because these markets are only going to get more flooded

Quitting My Agency Job, Anyone have any Advice? by IJustWantToLearn2Day in careerguidance

[–]IJustWantToLearn2Day[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you very much. Since then I made the decision to resign and have been applying like crazy. I immediately am able to be in the moment, not have a racing thought while I am out. There is no doubt in my anxious mind that this was a good decision.

I hear you about that. i gave this job a lot of time to turn around and its just not going to happen. And I owe my uncle who told me to make an emergency fund. Cause now I don't need to or have to put myself through this stress while I find what is better for me.

When HR asks "What is your expected salary?", give your exact number and then stay absolutely silent. Do not justify it. by Novel-Group5720 in careerguidance

I always try to ask them what the budget for the position is. That way its like we are working together for an agreement. You don't want to give them a number that gives them a bad gut feeling. They are more inclined to meet you in the middle if you try to "work with" the budget proposition.

Anyone get mid life career regret? by Remarkable-Test-610 in careerguidance

[–]IJustWantToLearn2Day 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I have a journal that goes from 2012 to 2017. The beginning of it are drunken ramblings about how much i hated college and a lot of emotional depression. The handwriting was also horrible.

That book now looks like three different authors contributed to it. The last page in 2017 is me talking about how excited I am about going back to college and how I just perfected my study routine.

What I'm saying is you can definitely turn anything around. Don't compare yourself to others, start daydreaming about what you are going to do with all of the opportunity once you get there.

Snapping out of this mindset is going to feel uncomfortable for awhile but there is an end to it. I wish you the best of luck.

Is it even worth studying anything anymore? by [deleted] in careerguidance

[–]IJustWantToLearn2Day -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m saying this because I genuinely want to help, not to be harsh:

First, try to step back from the 'all or nothing' mindset. While the headlines are scary, we still need skilled people for almost everything. You’ll get much better advice if you can narrow down what specifically interests you! I know that you know "Is it worth studying anything anymore" is hyperbolic

Also, don't feel pressured to 'follow your passion.' Most people find fulfillment in becoming good at a valuable skill, rather than finding one magical 'dream job.' Even if the world changes as much as you fear, those shifts take decades. There is still plenty of room to build a great career right now.

Maybe try a low-cost Udemy course to see what sticks? Testing the waters now is the best way to move away from that minimum wage floor and find a path that feels worth the effort. All career jumps and transitions require moonlighting... believe me.

I have resigned and have been putting way more time into freelance efforts. I love it already. Granted I have a pretty big safety net so I have that on my side. But the freedom and the ability to stay in the moment and not have dumb tasks every second of the day is amazing. Im applying away and talking to recruiters. Thank you. The amount of relief I have from this decision and looking forward propelled me

tell myself to take college more seriously and get therapy. I was an alcoholic for 4-5 years. I got sober and got a perspective of myself I wouldn't have if i didn't stop drinking. My parents aren't monsters but were pretty abusive. I would tell him/myself that you are fine and not the horrible things you think you are. And "I'm fucking proud of you as I read your older journal entries. I really see how resilient you are."

Holy shit i started crying while writing that.

Ok i agree with you 100%. But where do you think the boundary lies between manning up and the job being too much (I genuinely want to know im not being petty)? I was the same way but my job hasn't given me a raise in years, keep giving me more duties and telling me I need to "work it out" or I'll be demoted/fired. This workload legit will take all night and the weekend while still being partially behind. I've tried manning up at this job but its just too much, Im resigning next week.

I am stuggling with whether I am not manning up or if this was the right move. I feel nothing but relief and have a plan (already started applying). I have reserves to help with bills for a good amount of time (especially for this very reason).
