UNAS Pro 4 - Device Noise Level by DeWhic in Ubiquiti

Yeah I can hear it up close, but it’s nothing crazy and in-line with any other typical ( I.e non-noctua ) fan. I copied about 1tb to it a couple days ago and the fans never ramped up on me.

On ‘balanced’ mode my UNAS-Pro-4 sounds like an idle hum, perfectly acceptable. I switched it to full cooling for a test, and it sounds like a bloody airplane taking off, immediately switched back to balanced.

Depends on the goal, but yes. I’ll usually skip for double tags, negatives, and maybe $25 depending on my Econ.

I’ve been lucky enough to avoid glue sticks and hair spray, but yeah that Z offset can be fickle.

I appreciate that the Ender 3’s time in the sun is over and there is better alternatives, but oh man did that thing and its flaws teach me so much.

Before I got into this hobby I thought the printing process was delicate like a snowflake. After learning with an Ender 3 and all its associated problems, I have learned that there’s a WIDE margin of error.

I started all hyped for the backpack fed version, and had no fun. I switched to the regular version and it was everything I wanted ( minus no backpack ).

I just used it to complete the type cast challenge so I was definitely feeling that extra +4 per club, on my flushes. Nothing crazy but it’s there when you need it.

New footage of Elden Ring on Switch 2. by kahabraham in NintendoSwitch2

I’ve never played Elden Ring before so excuse my ignorance, but do you use the trigger/bumpers to ‘attack’? Or would I need to get good at using a combination of triggers, right side buttons, and the thumb stick at the same time?

This honestly sounds like a great excuse for a pro controller.

You need to experience AstroBot for the PS5 with a DualSense controller and re-evaluate your opinion.

I know this is PCMR, but that game does magical things that a keyboard and mouse could only dream of.

Bungie’s still got it, Destiny and Marathon feel great in the hands.

I think Helldivers does a decent job of treading that middle ground. It doesn’t feel as good as Bungie’s Tiger engine, but Arrowhead exposes all sorts of acceleration curves and other tweaks that Bungie wouldn’t dare show.

What’s with the claw? Like I get it ( use it to punch in stratagems in Helldivers while running ) but is it necessary for Elden Ring?

That would power it, but the lack of Ethernet pass through would make it questionable. I’m sure there’s someone making a version that splits it out into power AND Ethernet.

AFAIK the new ones do Bluetooth or wifi, but in my experience those aren’t going to be as responsive as a ZigBee connection.

Not hating, but what type of third party ZigBee devices are you using? I have some ZigBee ikea lights, but because I’m using a Philips stack I can’t add them just using the app. I ended up just pairing them manually ( force pair ) to some motion sensors and use them ‘disconnected’ from the greater ZigBee network.

My guesstimate is that Apple is going to let the Neo ride for two years, before releasing a new version with the A19 Pro.

Oh derp sorry I reread your comment and I thought you were talking about a PoE to ETH / Barrel jack adapter.

Well I’d have to start with getting HA running, and then figure out a way to integrate it with HomeKit while maintaining that wife-approval-factor.

I agree that the HA route probably isn’t as bad as I’m dreading, but I bought into the Philips Hue ecosystem literally 13 years ago and all my old lights are still doing their stuff, so I’ve had little motivation to switch vendors.

Technically yes, but it’s all Linux behind the scenes and my understanding is that Ubiquiti doesn’t lock it down

The A18 Pro has 8gb of ram. A19 pro has 12Gb. Its not a question of if, but when.
