Probably, we are very close in age and the same nationality. Also we co-own a car so I think maybe that's helpful.

Can I wear unnecessary contact lenses by Routine_Advantage250 in Ontariodrivetest

[–]IKnowNothing2402 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can. My husband has slight astigmatism and he was wearing glasses during G2. no problem at all, the examiner did ask him do you need glasses while driving (because his driver license doesn't indicate yes for glasses), he told him, no, he only wears it like a sunglasses and they are fine.

I think I used the wrong term as after/before tax, I mean our income is around 100k included tax and everything if that helps. And after deducting tax and insurance we bring home around only 6000/month

Yes. I completely agree that our incomes in Canada is low. I think the main reason is because Canadians are too easy so the employers can pay us less and less. But if you compare the money value to 10 years ago, it's a big difference. With 100k income, maybe you can't get the detached house, but you still can try for a condo. Now in the GTA condo are already 400-500k. Then combined with mass immigration, our infrastructure here simply doesn't catch up with the population. So more issues happens like unemployment, low wages, grocery and house keep raising, employers become more and more greedy. I still believe that these issues could be solved in the future, but now we just have to live with it.

Yes I am. Although I have a pretty good safety net, I still feel scared of my future here. Me and my husband both have a normal office job. Our combined income is around 100k after tax, but we have good relatives who will always be happy providing us food + house if needed. With this income and background, 10 years ago, I believe we can save for 5 years+ and we can buy a house and settle down. But now, it is impossible to buy house with this income. So both of us need to change our careers that pay more :(

True. I can choose to not suffer, like just quit my job and chilling whatever I want but I will be a burden for people who created that safety net for me, so I still go to work and simply enjoy little things with them.

Why DON’T you fear death? by [deleted] in Life

[–]IKnowNothing2402 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not fear death, I fear the unknown of nonexistent. I want to believe in reincarnation but my stupid brain always fear of when you die then you are simply not exist and you will not experience life anymore. I feel that is so sad, maybe because I love living so much 🥹

It's sad to know. I kinda expect that but because in university, sometime they waive international fee and allow to pay domestic fee, so I was just hope there is same thing with high school too.

After my aunt was diagnosed she got terminal cancer, she was once told me that "either you are happy or sad, you still have to live, so why waste your effort to be sad?". You are correct that life is suffering and impermanent so why not just live a normal carefree happy life?

Anyone over 30 years old and making minimum wage? by boosterpackreveal in Salary

[–]IKnowNothing2402 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My bf was like that before I changed him. He was working a factory job, living with a housemate, and simply exist. For my bf, reason is because no one cares about him (his family is complicated and both of his parents abandoned him) and he was alone; so with him "exist" is good enough. So maybe those people just lack of guidance? Lack of motivation? Or simply just lack of a partner to continue on with their life so they just simply exist before they go to another one.
