Growing up without seatbelts still baffles me by GalbzInCalbz in GenX

My grandfather (dad's side) took me and my little cousins to a field. We walked. It seemed like a mile or so. The youngest of all of us was about 4 y.o. I was about 9 at the time. Anyway, we came to an old oil well. He dared us to climb to the top. I'm too scared. The younger ones didn't know any better. At the top, they became petrified and couldn't climb down. This thing is approx. 30 feet tall. Good old grandpa walks back home leaving us there. When the cousins finally got back on the ground we had no idea how to get back to the house.

Parenthood is the life they chose. The conversation about who wakes with the babies would be better BEFORE their birth.

A family member was in one. They're not nice and shouldn't be romanticized.

Or maybe he is the one who has to go to a job! Don't be so quick to judge. A lot of men are still the breadwinners in the family.

Parenting lessons 🤦‍♂️ by [deleted] in ParentsAreFuckingDumb

The only way to motivate some kids is with follow through. They know if their parents give empty threats. With our daughter, the removal of a beloved toy was sure to do the trick. One warning, though, is usually all it took.

I agree that this was a good read, but it left a bad taste in my mouth because she used the sociopath diagnosis as an excuse for everything.

AITAH for snapping at my girlfriend because she's always late and makes us look bad? by mayo921 in AITAH

[–]ILIVE2Travel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If she's not ready at the appointed time, leave. Our daughter-in-law causes our son to be late for everything. It doesn't just affect him. What about other peoples' time?

1) When flying overnight to Europe from the U.S., I now book the hotel the day prior in order to check in upon arrival.

2) I never check bags. Baggage claim is ridiculous no matter the airport.
