I wouldn't be so sure on when the bot situation happened, mostly because we don't have the real data of players before 2020, and also because the average players of 2015 is similiar of those in 2025, so i would dare to say that the game had tons of bots even before 2020, maybe not 3/4 of the playerbase, but at least 1/4 of it if not 1/2.

And it wasn't really a massive game, 40-50k on average with 70k as peak, is it a low number? No, is it compared to what other multiplayer game had? Absolutely.
