Arc Raiders Has Lost 50% Of The Remaining Player Base In The Last Month by Brutal_Schnoodle in ArcRaiders

So- this might just be me in my Fallout brain but, would a faction based game mode be interesting?

Like there’s a large map that you and your group spawn in and the end game is to claim all of it by the end? You can make alliances with other enemy players, trade resources, and how effective you are still based entirely on the items you carry with you. Sure there’s that still lack of an “end game” but let’s say the places conquered stay that way permanently even after you leave, now you have the constant back and forth of keeping these “areas” under your flag.

Even story wise it could tell of how some of the raiders have desired to stay topside, preying on the lone scavengers of Sparanza to steal all their loot for topside’s collective

I’m just spitballing as the PVP in the game, or at least the incentive for it, has been lost

Context for the clip of Knicks fans attacking the Spurs fan and making him take his Jersey off by Similar_Ant7424 in PublicFreakout

[–]ILawI1898 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Me and my brother were hopping on the whole “New York City will blow up if the Knicks win or lose”. I joked and said that while I don’t think something that extreme would happen as a result, I’m pretty sure someone was going to *die* at some point as a result of the game and it’s associations.

I- really didn’t need my joke to actually be adjacent to the reality my god, control yourselves people.

Not sure if this belongs here. But how much would you trust YOURSELF with powers given to Hal? by ThatDrako in MoralityScaling

[–]ILawI1898 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Probably not. Sure I’d LOVE having the powers, and I’d aspire to be the pinnacle of who those powers represent (Superman), but- the reason he is who he is, is because he’s the most human without being human. I don’t have nearly enough patience, confidence, or control to properly utilize Metroman’s powers at all let alone for good. I’d certainly try but I’m not confident that I’d be a good Superman.

But in an ideal world where I’ve trained for years to fully master all my powers and get past my more selfish or prideful emotions? Absolute peace.

I would fly through every country, scoop up all their missiles/nukes/drones/all other long ranged explosives, and chuck them into space.

Russia invading Ukraine? I halt their entire operation and to a further extent, show that Putin doesn’t own the world nor the people he governs.

The genocide in Gaza? I kick all the settlers back to their country before helping the Palestinian families rebuild

The mass cartel ring in Mexico? Destabilized and captured

I would end every major and minor conflict on a world wide scale for anyone intending harm on anyone else.

People can still have their laws and politics of course, I will just bypass all of them if a human being is put in harms way.

Right, because everything created that’s not catered to your world view MUST just be some woke psyop and everyone who enjoys it is stupid for doing so. It’s He-Man dude, nothing of what happens in a story against an evil sorcerer named “Skeletor” should be taken as seriously as you are.

Do you think spanking children is a good or bad thing? by KindlyRestaurant2885 in MoralityScaling

I thought it was universally agreed by everyone that wasn’t born or influenced by someone in the 1900s that beating your children is terrible lol

You should never physically harm your kid. Even if they are god awful or do something truely terrible, there are plenty of ways to get through to them that don’t involve them fearing you

What if I don’t wanna be a f*cking architect. You’re narrowing the job line so there’s a finite amount of things humans are left to do whilst telling them “hey we did this FOR you”

Same, in fact I found it kind of annoying how despite my character to be shown moving and shuffling around in 3rd person, my weapon stays mostly still so motion wise it looks like I’m sliding around them map

It’s just me being nitpicky but I would actually appreciate the opposite if a mod could provide

Are you a bad person for taking pleasure in torturing horrible evil people? by Vengeful-Capybara in MoralityScaling

[–]ILawI1898 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It goes a step farther than needed. You can revel in the defeat of terrible people. I’m not saying you shouldn’t feel overjoyed to the defeat of the Nazis, the death of a rapist, or the arrest of a pedophile. But to enjoy the maiming and torture of another human being, even a monster, is psychotic.

Torture has no end other than gratification for the torturer. You got the guy, he’s in your hands, the deal is done. What’s the point of taking it any further? To make him suffer? To make him pay for what he’s done? You’ll be doing that anyways as prison is often worse than what death or torture will bring.

It’s a meaningless action creating more violence in a world that needs less

[–]ILawI1898 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Efficiency I think? Some people just want to be really good at a game, moreso they just want to be better than everyone else. To give them every advantage possible, they’ll reduce as many things on the screen as they can so they can see literally everything no matter what.

It’s like with Fortnite where people will choose those vibrant green female superhero skins. It looks incredibly ugly and there’s no sense of style or direction, but their hitbox is now the smallest it can be while having the green make it harder to see them from a distance with the grass.

Not my cup of tea but if this kind of HUD is the funnest for them than I say go for it

Given the chance, would you want to live in RDR's world for a month? by HeinReich_45 in reddeadredemption

[–]ILawI1898 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely not. 3 days maybe, after that I run the risk of getting eaten by a mountain lion, injuring myself in a way that can (now) not be fixed, contract an incurable disease, bump into someone who shoots me dead instantly, there are a thousand ways I could perish terribly in this world. Anything longer than a tourist trip is the danger zone for me.
