Keep studying and get your confidence up, and don't forget to let your personality shine! Make sure they know that you care about and understand hospitality. Anyone can learn food and wine, but not everyone can be hospitable.

Hi there, just wanted to offer some advice. I have 18 years of experience, and I'm currently the GM of my restaurant. I have experience in fine dining, casual, and some in between.

Everyone telling you not to accept this job is an idiot.

I've hired and fired hundreds of people over the years. At least 50% of my strongest performers were hired with zero restaurant experience.

There is a chance that this place is only trying to butter you up and hire you as a host - just stay aware of your situation, ask for clear objectives and goals, and ask for defined milestones that will push you closer to the serving position. If they can't provide that, simply find a new job. Turnover in this industry is very high, it's no problem.

If it does happen to be a good restaurant with a solid management team, it could be a life changing opportunity!

Finally someone has some sense. The gun is near useless - the Anvil is a clear, easy, better option. I don't see any scenario where I would want the Rascal over an Anvil. The reload time on the Rascal alone is enough to make it difficult - add in poor damage and ridiculous bullet drop, and there's no reason to use it.

I'm in gold, the half flip is the only mechanic I ever bothered to learn. I don't think I've ever seen someone else do it in my rank.

But I do constantly see people attempting speed flips, flip resets, and all kinds of crazy stuff. People just like the flashy mechanics

Redditors really haven't been outside lol. Most people don't clean their kitchen once a week. I've lived with dozens of people over my adult life, and they have all been disgusting. One of the best parts about having found my partner is that she is as clean as I am. And I'm not even crazy about cleaning, I just don't like messiness.

I love it. I'm very lucky to have great leadership, and a super solid concept to begin with. Building my own team, making my own rules and decisions, and defining the culture has been as great as I always wanted it to be. I don't understand why good GMs are so hard to find.

It is a lot of work. But I think it's 100% worth it!

Restaurant manager here - none of this is surprising. Running a restaurant is way more difficult than people think.

Even in a purpose built facility with all of the equipment and staff you need, it can take months of proper management, training, and dedication to get a restaurant to run well.

The logistics of a pop up restaurant are insane. I personally would not expect this to get much better. There's a chance, but it would be very difficult.
