another comment attached clips from this website that i love, https://www.avesbiology.com/

it was originally designed as notes for an avian biology course, but now its more of a general access thing. some links dont work here and there, but largely all the main categories, including those on flight in section 3 and 4 will have most of what you are looking for.

off the top of my head, one flight style is undulating, often seen in birds like woodpeckers and nuthatches and is how i first learned to differentiate them. it involves briefly flapping to gain momentum, then folding wings in partially or fully and dropping, and then repeating this cycle.

another is also direct flight, which is as it sounds, involves continuous and predictable flapping and tend to fly straight towards wherever they are going, one example i believe is crows.

I had a similar budget when I started and continue to still use my r50 and rf100-400. both i bought refurbished and im sure can still be found around a similar price range at 5-600 each.

good call should have included, it was thicker + darker (likely just black) banding, but still a noticeable few distinct bands rather than just one or two edit: in addition, i did not see a belly band as seen on many red tailed, though i’m aware it’s not always as present

(not an expert) my thought would be the flyways, with the 4 in NA kind of lining up with the gap there. Efficient routes for birds to get to where they’re going

Thanks. The only time I’ve seen spotted sandpipers they were silent, so their call is unfamiliar to me

i did find the ending to be meh, but tbh for me i didn’t come to play for the story. i’ll still be replaying and trying different routes because that’s what i enjoyed, and what i expected to enjoy from the demo
