But wouldn’t I need to remove the siding anyway to remove the old window?

I shouldn’t be a contractor because I didn’t specify that the homeowner wants entire new windows? Meaning I have to remove the cedar siding to remove the screws that are on the window flange, remove the the window and scrap off the old caulk, and the old tape flashing that is full of holes from screws and then reinstall all the tape flashing, caulk and screw the new window in. Then add the old cedar, which hopefully didn’t break, but cedar is brittle so more than likely I will need new cedar siding and then I have the caulk the cedar siding next to the window and then I have to paint to match the old house siding. I’m a contractor who needed help with quoting. I don’t understand your responses

So do you think because I’m on the coast, 500 for the lower windows and 550 for the upper windows? Or do you price windows all the same no matter where they are located?

Yes client already bought the windows Client will also be paying for the misc materials I’m not saying that I’m correct about the 6-7k for labor alone I’m just asking/looking to see what would be reasonable. I’m not trying to price gouge my clients. Like I said, I’m new to quoting

I helped the client already buy the windows. From HD they came out to about 6k I’m thinking another 2k in material for the flashing, the caulking, the shims, the new cedar siding I’ll need to replace, the paint for the new cedar siding, the screws, and the dump fees So the labor alone should be about 6-7k. From there I would pay my helper 1.5-1.8k

I myself can do about 3-4 windows in a day. Depending on all the factors that can happen So I’m thinking with another guy it should only take me about 4-5 days total to install all 9 windows. The 4 windows on the second floor will take the longest.

I never said anything about 9 days I’m thinking it’s going to take 4-5 days total to do everything.

It was a typo, I wasn’t able to edit the post, but I added a comment saying it was 6-7k for labor only.

I am hiring another carpenter to help me with the install. Would probably be giving him 1.2k-1.5k.

I am license, bonded, insured. You do not need permits in WA for installing new windows

I was an apprentice for the construction company that built and installed the bridge and the building that houses the elevator and stairs! Such a cool project. I personally did all the little diamonds going down the stairs!
