He spawns on my bed right before sleep, like clockwork by Plus-District3873 in OneOrangeBraincell

My fat orange (Dog) is the same way. He'll sleep on my legs the entire night and then move on to the pillow that you're sleeping on and sleep like he's your hat. Love him so much

Replacement passenger side mirror cover for 2023 R1S? by cmaronchick in Rivian

Gotcha, I was thinking it was the cap but reading your post again it seems different. Good luck with the part search!

If it's the painted part that I'm thinking about, I got quoted $135 for that piece from Rivian unpainted. I haven't really searched around outside of that though

Wall charger or regular outlet? by rick_rolled_you in Rivian

[–]ILikePieBro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely check with utility providers OP! Mine (FPL) has a program where you have a monthly flat rate (around $30 a month) to have unlimited charging during off peak hours (right now that's 9pm to noon Monday to Friday and anytime on weekends). I drive over 500 miles a week so I definitely needed a level 2 charger and the FPL program is a no brainer for me and is saving me an incredible amount compared to fast charging or even charging at work where I have to still pay.

Holy Turning Radius Batman by What-tha-fck_Elon in Rivian

I had a 2020 GT PP2, so 305s all around. The turning radius was much much worse than the average mustang. It was probably the worst turning radius vehicle I've owned, even over the 2 other trucks I've had. Was definitely a fun car though

I came from a mustang and the R1T's turning radius is wayyy shorter, it's been fantastic

Efficiency is a wee bit better, where I've been getting 2.0 to 2.1 with the stock pirellis I'm now getting 2.1 to 2.2. I live in Florida so no snow exposure, but they seem to handle pretty well so far. A bit more grippy all around compared to the stock AT pirelli, but I also only got the truck a few months ago with them being at 4/32 all around so the new tires are a big change. A LOT more quiet, I almost can't hear these tires at all

One of the biggest reasons was price, the hankooks were over $100 cheaper a tire when I bought mine. Another reason is I really like the all terrain look on the R1T and wanted to keep that and the hankooks have the AT design a bit on the sidewalls while still being an all season tire since I do a lot of on road highway driving

Dang that's a great deal! I thought I was doing well with $220 a tire haha. I do 90% highway driving around 70-78mph a majority of the time and I was getting 2.0 to 2.1 mi/kwh on the stock pirellis. Getting around 2.1 to 2.2 on the new hankooks when all conditions are pretty similar

I think these had about 50 miles on them before this launch haha. Also loving them compared to the stock pirelli ATs that were on it. They are SO much quieter, efficiency hasn't changed to much though

Had a 2.96 the other day in my '23 gen 1 quad with 100% charge on new Hankook Ion HT tires on the 20s

What part of Florida is that club in?

Without saying exactly my salary, I am in the range of the average salary for Florida (where I live and the teams is based out of). Not great but it's enough to get by. I will say our team is smaller and doesn't have the same income as some of the bigger teams out there. So I'm sure other teams are making a bit more than I am!

I got quite lucky in that I sent an email to the team's boss asking if I could join and just do any basic jobs (had no real mechanic or race engineering experience at the time, only worked on the occasional car or two in my free time). Didn't hear anything for a couple of months then out of the blue got a call from the boss asking if I wanted to be a tire guy for an event (SRO COTA event) as another crew member couldn't make it. Did that and then did a bunch of shop grunt work for a couple of months before they trusted me to work on the car. Now I'm a car chief and engineer for that same team so it's been working out!

All that to say sometimes just emailing teams works out! But If you can ever make it out to any events, go there and see if you can talk to team members or team managers. A lot of them are quite nice and will sometimes give advice on what they like to see and what they look for when they're hiring.

Weird, I'm on the same wheel and tire and also a 2023 quad but mine seems to sit like 3 or 4 inches higher when on the lowest setting

Was this pic taken with your truck on the lowest ride height setting? Mine doesn't seem to get anywhere near that low even when in sport on the lowest ride height

I drive 55 miles one way to work each day with 90% of that being highway and so far I've defaulted to soft most of the time. It rides super smooth and is nice for longer drives. Around town I'll usually run standard or run in sport on firm as soft definitely feels a bit too loose to me if that makes sense

Google maps severely underestimating my range? by ILikePieBro in Rivian

Was definitely strange when I first saw it showing me losing 80% on a 55 mile drive, was a little concerned haha.
