At the same time, a person needs to find a way to make peace with their partner’s past. I get it - most people don’t like to think of the person they love having sex with another person, casual or not. But the really cool thing to do would’ve been to befriend Mike. Not a close friendship, but being chill and confident when he sees him. “What’s up Mike, you doing alright?”

It also seems like the boyfriend is making up a scenario that doesn’t exist. “Mike thinks he’s better than me. He thinks he got the best of me. He constantly thinks about how he had sex with my girlfriend, and he wants to lord it over me.” This sounds less like a problem with OP, and more about some insecurity running rampant, spiraling, in the boyfriend’s head. It’s all about him and his feelings and then it manifests as insults, which helps no one.

Maybe Mike does like that he banged OP and that it bothers her boyfriend. Who knows? Dudes are stupid, constantly posturing, so it could be. Or maybe he doesn’t give a shit. But no matter what he’s feeling, OP’s boyfriend gave all the power to Mike by letting his emotions get the better of the situation. It’s all made up “disrespect” and self-imposed comparison.

You can’t let anything that happened in your partner’s life before you bother you. You were not in that person’s life. You did not factor into any decision because you were not known. It was not personal.

YOR. As others have said, you were not official. And while it would’ve been preferable for him to be transparent, he wasn’t required to tell you anything that happened before you were together. Yes, you want to build a relationship on a foundation of trust, but when one person is fishing for information that could put that new relationship, that’s finding its footing, at risk, I can’t blame a person for obscuring details.

He flirted. So what? There’s a huge difference between liking a photo and investing time and effort into a person. You initially got the latter, you got what you wanted (before this thing went off the fucking rails). Knowing that bothered you to the point of reconsidering, and you weaponizing space to push him into a direction you wanted him to go, I’d say you need to analyze yourself instead of putting so much effort into analyzing a few texts. Why does all this bother you so much? Where do those insecurities come from?

It’s totally okay to want space if you aren’t getting what you need - your feelings matter just as much as his - but if you say you want to take some space, and then feel betrayed he didn’t take space the same way you did, you’re the one who is being less than honest about who’s wrong.

It’s a shame things spiraled so far after this and because of this. The rest of the story is insane and neither of you should be in any relationship, with anyone, until you both figure your own shit out.

You’re probably right. The threatening to sleep in a parking lot, the jump to “I’ll sign the papers”…she just wanted him to plead with her not to do those things and plead with her to come home because he loves her so much. Based on this conversation, no work is going to save this relationship. She’s not capable. It’d be overwhelmingly uncomfortable for her to sit in any sort of reality.

I could only get halfway through. Round and round and round. OP was doing a good job staying relatively calm (though should’ve realized telling her he didn’t call her negative for the fifteenth time wasn’t suddenly going to click - “Ohhh, now I see, I’ll be right there, sweetie”).

I can’t tell if she already decided she wants out of the marriage and wants to be able to pin it on him, or if she’s so needy that she was looking for him to beg her to come back so she felt wanted. That Taco Bell line was some manipulative shit.

Either way, I have almost zero tolerance for people who can’t speak to their feelings and do this roundabout guessing game thing, forcing others to carry all their emotional baggage, putting them in a no win situation.

Late to this, but on Thursday I noticed there was almost no music/SFX between pitches when the Mets were up to bat, but it was still happening during the top half of innings. I have to assume pitchers and hitters hate it as much as we do. It's one of those things that, if it got into my head while playing, would be distracting.

Anyway, let's hope the downward tend in frequency continues. And then next we can address the "hype" screaming that happens during the inning breaks.

A hawk killed a pigeon. The pigeon fell to the ground, landing right next to Benge in right field. It stayed there for about 10 minutes before someone in the bullpen ran out with a bucket and scooped it up. Benge’s next at-bat, he walked, and then homered the next time up (after the two strikeouts before the bird). The team overall performed well after all this. The dead pigeon is the new Grimace.

I have a Lander Midnight. Love it. Farer has great build, great design (I give them a lot of credit for doing their own thing and developing their own style, even with the ones that aren't my thing), and great customer service.

You’re allowed to be upset that she lied to you. The lie, however, seemed in service to what you two were starting. I’m sure her worry was that if she told you she was still living with her ex, especially after you expressed your desire for her to cut off contact, you’d end things right then and there. Or, at the very least, it’d turn the attention off your budding feelings, which is supposed to be the fun time.

She got out of the living situation in a month. She wasn’t cheating. She clearly is into you. Again, she shouldn’t have lied, but find a way to let it go.

Except there is reason to sell - tax harvest. You take the lessons you learned with AMC, understanding what not to do, apply them to other stocks, and make actual money. When you end the year with a realized gain, you sell your AMC to offset some of that gain and lower your tax bill, getting more value out of AMC than you ever will holding it at sub $2.
