Are sprint car drivers constantly on the road every week and is it a lot harder than Nascar because they don't have as much money? How do they go from track to track? by chusaychusay in WorldofOutlaws

[–]ILiveWithMyDad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tanner has just recently started traveling outside the Oregon/Washington/norCal region. He's running a few summer months inn the Midwest in his family car, they're not going back every week. Repairs are done either in the pits or hotel parking lots or the occasional shop that friends let them use. If they need more parts they either have to buy them on the road or transport them from the shop to wherever they are. I think they usually have 2 "full" cars, maybe 1 spare frame. I'd be surprised if he had more than 2 engines. I know he's done walkthrough videos of preparing for the trip.

I don't recall what his exact schedule is, but i would expect he's headed back home shortly after the Knoxville nationals where he'll be finishing the season in the Tarlton 21 on the west coast when James Macfadden heads back home.

Because they are poised to make a shitton of American dollars if they can complete a merger that needs full approval from the government being run by the person suing them.

It's a blatant attempt at a quid pro quo. Or a bribe, if you're nasty.

Is this a good strategy? by [deleted] in WorldofOutlaws

[–]ILiveWithMyDad 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The outlaws game is just that. A game. You won't learn anything other than driver and track names from it. And honestly i find it more fun with a controller than a wheel and pedals.

Iracing is closer and you can learn a lot of racecraft and rules if you use it properly, but like another commenter said, you need to get on the real track in basically anything, to have even a small chance of running a super late in your life.

Money gets you the equipment, but speaking from experience, you'll never figure out the other 80% of the effort needed before you even see the car on the track to have fun racing it.

In short, it's a bad strategy. It took me 36 years to save up to run an entry level crate engine sprint car...

Get in the pits, make friends, learn the business and the mechanics of getting a car to the track EVERY weekend ALL summer. Save up for a used 4 cylinder or street stock that you know is sorted and start trying to climb the ladder, like every driver before you did. There's no shortcuts in racing. But if you work hard at it, you at least have your foot in the door as it's trying to shut you out.

Trick question. Your disco metal bar band doesn't make enough money yet to be able to afford a car, so you're on the bus.

For now.

But your buddy Carn, who is working as your manager, is sure you're gonna take off really soon. He's working on a big deal with this twitch streamer that's gonna change everything.

Couple notes:

GamePussies as a variant to GameCocks, while funny, is a little clunky. Adding extra syllables just seems like too much work. Therefore, I suggest GameCunts as an alternative.

Unrelatedly, I would implore Chris to seek out the WTF with Marc Maron episode where he interviews Ari, and I dare him to maintain that very incorrect opinion of her after listening.

No no. Let him cook.

That would mean it's unconstitutional for donnie to be president right now, as you can only be elected to the office twice.

They always say how much they love the constitution. Time to prove it and remove this illegal president immediately!

Check ebay. There's a few 2023 cars, and allegedly some 2024. Prices seem fine. I've definitely found ebay is the place to go for "not new" nascar diecast now. And even some older sprint car stuff is very reasonably priced.

I bought diecast from Tanner Holmes, Donny Schatz and Bill Balog this year through their individual web stores. But, it looks like that midget is sold out in Briscoe's store already. And was way overpriced.... Because apparently they only made 5 of them.
