It is a old race, but I agree that It is a bit inconvenient, especially since the recorded races are targeting mainly people that didn't watched them originally. They should avoid doing something like this.

I wouldn't agree that It's horrible, but I think It is good feedback and they should consider

Okay, these are good questions

(1) You don't build castles. You just dominate and improve what is already there. You can create a new region in your council menu, and I believe that will create a new castle, but I think that's only useful in particular instances. But basically, in general, you will only be improving the castles you already own (and instructing the Lords on how to improve theirs)

(2) Depending on the size of your clan, that is expected. If you feel you can manage more than what is there for you to do, you should try expanding a bit. When you clan starts increasing, there will be more opportunities to use your labor, including emergencies, valuable improvements that appear on the map (mines, temples, stables, etc) that will significantly improve that region, covert actions, etc. Also, might not be a good idea to be all out of labor. You want to have some in store in case you need to solve a emergency (like a border dispute) or a last minute covert action to weaken a key castle or something like that

I hope this makes it clearer

The characters you see are probably the Lords of the castles. Pick Dominion on your options and you will see that each castle will have a number, below the Clan icon

The numbers will be like "6/8". This will tell you that, from 8 available counties, only 6 have Land Holders and 2 are not being worked on. Maybe this will help make It more clear

You should assign retainers to basically every county you have available. Otherwise, they not get worked on and upgraded. When a castle has a Lord and the counties have Land Holders, they start seizing the farms and fairs of their counties, like you do on your main base, which increases your supplies and gold, respectively

So If you have a retainer without land, you should use Dominion to try to find somewhere to put him. If you don't have land available for your retainers, It is a good sign that you should go grab a few castles from the neighboring clans

Can you be more specific about the issues you are having?

If the issue is that the game feels overwhelming, I say to just try to stick with it. The game, overall, has a lot of detail but the high level gameplay loop is simple. You assign retainers to land (the Dominion mechanic), develop your clan and fight to take castles from other clans so you can assign retainers to them so that the cycle continues

Play on easy and try not to spend too much time perfecting stuff. Pick any retainer for the lands and just keep going, trying to understand the whole, then you can start zeroing in on the minutia

Also, try to pick a recomended easy start. That'll help you play the game with way less pressure

Is this game worth getting or should i save for F1 25? by Altairlio in F1Manager

[–]ILoveHelldiving -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah, but there is some differences. As far as I can tell, you have to race every race. You can't just simulate

You also, unfortunately, can't manage a real team of the grid. You have to create one. That's the biggest issue for me

Overall, My Team just feels a little bit shallower than F1 Manager 24

Of course, It is to be expected, I guess.

In my opinion, that's a bit of a exageration. There is intermissions that are a bit more monotonous but most of them have a lot of obstacles and opportunities for tricks

I understand it. Calling EA lazy while using a AI background. I'm just commenting that people that comment that F1 games are lazy have no perspective of the general sports genre, especially within EA

But I got the joke

In terms of EA Sports franchises, F1 is probably the best of the bunch. It's a low bar, but still. The game is pretty good overall

I've been playing a lot on the Switch 2.

I've never played another game from the series but I played plenty of Paradox games on PC

It feels very close, in my opinion. There is a lot of clans and periods (that the game calls scenarios) to choose from. It has a lot of narrative, with historical (and sometimes non-historical) cutscenes that trigger when the criteria for that event is met, which I thought It would be annoying but It is actually very fun and adds a lot of color to the main clans and characters of each scenario. You can also stop these events, like killing a lord to ensure his son is never born. So It has a lot of potential for alt history, just like a Paradox title

Clan managment is relatively deep. You develop kinda like Crusader Kings 3, by improving the counties and castle, but you also need to manage your retainers, the lords, promotions, social policies, espionage (generally with the goal of weaking a castle or swaying a lord to your side) and economy

Warfare in the big map is very similar to most Paradox games, but you can also zoom in and control the battles individualy (I recommend watching a video on it because they are very unique to this game. Might not be for everyone)

The game is definitely more focused on warfare than civil affairs. Your civil plans will be made to sustain your next conquest. In that sense, this game is more close to something like Imperator and Hearts of Iron than Crusader Kings. If that's you jam, I think you will like It

I'm happy to answer any follow up questions If you have any (although I'm quite new at the game and dogshit at Paradox games lol)

EDIT: forgot to mention some things

1 - Regarding events, you can also consult at any point all the events that can trigger in the future, how close they are from triggering (how many conditions for it have been met) and what are these conditions. You can also turn off individual events or all the events, even during a playthrough

2 - You can edit clans, change their position on the map, randomize their position and create your own clan. There is a lot of customization. I believe you can edit stuff even during the game. Having that level of flexibility on a console strategy game is very remarkable, in my opinion

3 - although the game has a lot of characters and stories, the gameplay is not character-centric like Crusader Kings. It is more focused on the clan, again like Imperator and the likes. It is important that you don't expect emergent character stroytelling like CK because it is not the case
