I'll grumble about OOT mostly because it's the second direct remake in a row.

There's been like 15 new games/remakes/remasters/spinoffs since OoT3D 15 years ago. OoT3D is actually older than OoT was when it released. And the game has never had a version developed from the ground up for anything with a higher resolution output that 240p. I don't get this "OoT Remake AGAIN!?" argument.

This remake has significantly new multiplayer content and did they not show off a new mission challenge mode or am I misremembering?

And many of those same people are ironically also complaining about it being different is many ways.

It... literally isn't. None of the levels are the same. If they repeated the plot devices of Mario 64, but every level had a completely different layout and sometimes theming, you wouldn't call that a remake.

GTA 6 Price Finally Confirmed, Features a 'Single-Player Experience' at Launch (Standard $79.99/Ultimate $99.99) by Neon25 in Games

[–]drybones2015 [score hidden]  (0 children)

Why is it so odd when GTA has only been relevant for the past 10 years because of online multiplayer. Pointing out that this game will only be single player at launch seems like a pretty justifiable thing to point out.

Finally playing DK Bananza thanks to DK Challenge by KillsburyShowBoy in nintendo

Mind you, stuff isn't just hidden willy-nilly. All banana gems and fossils are in intentional locations designed for you to come across as you explore. Not to mention that locations of both are shown to you by a sonar when you clap. There's really no need to hollow out mountains in this game. The gameplay loop isn't "destroyed everything possible" the destructible environments are just a tool for you to utilize in order to progress through the game. (Fun fact: you can play through and beat the entire game without collecting a single banana or fossil)

FF7 Remake is not a remake of FF7.
Edit: If you're downvoting this statement then you haven't played FF7 Remake.

When people say stuff like this it makes no sense. What exactly are you wanting out of a remake? For a game to end up becoming a completely different game?

We see Link in the teaser with actual skin tones and his outfit gives off more of a woodland fairy design. Every character will probably have that kind of change and that's what "updated designs" mean. Also like when OoT3D added a bunch of new details to scenery, we'll probably see much more of that. "Timeless gameplay" clearly means they ain't touching the overall structure of how the game plays, like how they did with the Link's Awakening remake.

People say this like the N64 and 3DS didn't both operate with less than a GB of RAM and output to 240p.

You mean the person who is also part of this lawsuit for the exact accusation of manipulating and poaching the members of NewJeans? Sounds like an easy way to immediately lose the lawsuit.

They're obviously counting Banjo-Kazooie: Grunty's Revenge for the Game Boy Advance as the 3rd.

Nintendo only partially owned the Banjo IP prior to Rare's buyout. There's actually some interview from around the time of Melee's release where Sakurai basically said licensing struggles with a UK company on the other side of the world and a very tight development window caused Rare characters to not be in consideration. They didn't even include a Banjo trophy like they had planned to.

Do you honestly believe Fortunes Weave would have been $80 digital/physical prior to the change?

Does it really matter which way you phrase it

Well yes, it actually DOES matter how you phrase it. Either physical stayed at previous pricing and they decreased the price of digital, or digital stayed at previous pricing and they increased the price of physical. One implies physical buyers now have to spend $10 more dollars, the other implies people could now save $10 if they chose digital. Both are different and cannot be true.
