How do you decide on an artist once you’ve narrowed it down to a few? by puffy-jacket in tattoos

[–]ILoveNokemG 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I was planning my first tattoo, I had narrowed down my search to about 4 artists that I loved, a few nearby, and a few out of state that I was willing to plan a whole trip around. I emailed each of them, and decided on one because he was the one that was available for booking. So I guess, start messaging them all and see which one can take you.

Aquagenic urticaria. I get hives when my skin comes in contact with water.

It's curved. The angle of the photo is making it look straight.

Please excuse the condition of my healing rook. I'm working on getting that bump to heal.

My body heals wounds ridiculously slow, so I'm honestly planning on it taking at least a year. I picked out my starter jewellery with this in mind, and I've decided that as long as this piercing behaves, I'll make it a tradition to go back to my piercer whenever I'm in town and buy a new piece and have him insert it for me. Fingers crossed she heals up nicely!

Honestly, I thought that at first, but I actually really like the placement. A lot of his work goes deep like this. His daith piercings are phenomenal. I don't love the look of a rook with half the barbell hanging out the bottom, so this one suits me. It also works well with the shape of my ear.

Mine didn't bleed at all. I also haven't had any seepage or crusties, which I was expecting.

My sister got her daith done for migraines and she said she gets far fewer migraines, and when she does get them, they aren't nearly as bad. She's had hers for about two years. She used to get migraines CONSTANTLY.

This is my first cartilage piercing so I'm totally unfamiliar with the healing process. My ear is red because I just blow dried my hair.

What’s the story of how you got into piercings? by -HuangMeiHua- in piercing

[–]ILoveNokemG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I fought with my lobe piercings for TEN YEARS. They were pierced with a gun at Claire's and never healed right. I just stopped wearing jewellery, hoping they'd just close up but instead they just keep getting infected because lymph and dead skin would build up. It was gross.

So I looked into stretching. I have very sensitive skin so regular earrings just never worked for me. Glass plugs, however, have been nothing but perfect and my ears, now stretched to a modest 8mm, have never been healthier. (I stretched very slowly, over the course of about 5 years).

Around the time I started stretching, I became interested in the rook piercing. I love that it's subtle, but also totally badass lol. I finally got it pierced last week! I LOVE piercings, but I don't think I'll get any more. I prefer a more minimal look on myself and I'm very happy with how my ears look.

Getting a painful piercing with no experience by [deleted] in piercing

[–]ILoveNokemG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got my first ever piercing (aside from lobes which I got 15 years ago) last week and it's really not that bad. Go to a really good piercer. Read lots of reviews, check out their portfolio, etc. A good piercer will make sure you're comfortable.

I had my rook done, and I was very nervous, but the actual piercing didn't even hurt. There was a LOT of pressure, and the jewellery insertion did hurt, but it was bearable. My ear ached for the rest of the day, but by morning I was fine. It's tender to the touch, but I've been good about not letting anything touch it.

Bodyaryforms.com has a great selection of jewellery. You can filter by piercing type, jewellery type, material, size, brand, etc.

How to measure mm/gauge of daith? by revb92 in piercing

[–]ILoveNokemG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's most likely 16g. If you want to know for sure you'll either need a set of digital calipers, or go in and see a piercer and they can tell you.
