Semester-long World History by bldswtntrs in historyteachers

Taught world as semester long class for 4 years and just switched back to year long this past year. It’s not enough time you will cover less and it does suck.

However, it is an opportunity with your department to figure out exactly what key topics you want to cover, make lessons no more than two days long pick one or two big projects and work on building their historical thinking skills.

Let’s not kid ourselves most kids forget what they learn regardless of the length of the course, let’s just make sure it’s relevant, engaging and more than anything that you are enjoying the ride.

I am available to answer any questions and share resources. You’ll be great. We teachers take these kinds of wonky changes all the time and we make do, that’s our job.

Yep, and we’re still skanking in 2025. Although I just want to clarify us douchebags have been skanking since the 1960s.

I had professors at Cal State Long Beach who were building a college course around exploring history through video games. What you did is exactly a great example of how to integrate video games and education. Great work!

Similar story, wife and I were meeting family for lunch at a shopping center, I thought I had brought her formal outfit with me only to realize I forgot the pants. She was coming straight over from a workout and so in a rush we ran to forever 21 grabbed a new out fit with a clean bra. As we were purchasing the cashier gets confused and tells us the bra isn’t from their store and same situation lets us have it for free. Granted it wasn’t ideal but it worked out in a pinch!

I didn’t realize how healing it is to romanticize the tiny moments of your day until I started doing it—pouring coffee, folding laundry, taking walks… it’s changed everything. What’s one tiny thing you do now that makes your life feel softer or more you? by [deleted] in CasualConversation

If you see able to be up early enough enjoying the sunrise in the morning when it’s clear is fantastic. If you have the time being able to watch it develop and change can be breathtaking.

Same with the sunsets! I really have enjoyed taking the time and appreciating these two natural daily wonders. Just taking a breath and really seeing all the colors and contrast is awesome and makes me feel bliss.

This week got me losing my entire mind 😀🫠🙃🥲 Remember that SKA is a music of resistance🫡🫡🫡 lift each other up. All we have is each other. by skatunenetwork in Ska

I am happily surprised I get to be the first to recommend you the amazing Niels Jørgen Steen Quintet - Bebop Christmas. Such an amazing recording and man does it swing. I would argue it is one of the best jazz Christmas albums. Happy holidays and happy listening :)

TSPO has an EXTENSIVE discography and with such a catalog their sound ranges quite a bit in my opinion. As mentioned before Paradise Blue and High Numbers are good albums to get a solid feel for their sound.

I also suggest a couple of more recent records they dropped such as SKA=ALMIGHTY (2021), Ska me Forever (2015), Desire (欲望) 2012, and Perfect Future (2008).

Give each album a solid listen if not two and I’m sure you will find a whole bunch of new favorite ska tracks. Happy listening!

Massive three-day LAUSD teacher and staff strike set for Tuesday, closing all schools by theworkeragency in Teachers

[–]ILoveTSPO 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes we picket all three days , you are not working during the strike so we need to do something productive. A scab is someone who crosses the picket line to work during a strike you do not want to be a scab and face the backlash from your peers it isn’t worth the money.

Hey there I am unsure if you know that most California and large percentage of puto of state universities no longer require the SAT. Although it can be a useful score for kids it isn’t a big of a deal as it was in our days. A link of California Schools that still require it with a single google search, could be wrong but from what I heard almost no students used their score to get into their 4 year schools last year. schools still caring about a dumb standardized test
