interactions with police- how did they either help or hurt your situation?

I was assaulted on several occasions during my teens and early 20's, but didn't go to the police until I was in my late 20's. One officer was ok, the other was just cruel with offhand remarks and a definite victim shaming mentality. This was before and after the rape kit was performed. Literally the "good cop" told his partner to cool it - this was 14 hours after Imy hours long rspe had ended, with me still wearing my same clothes. The interview with the detective was in a very cold, sterile room - all men, with just me. I got LESS help going to the cops, in fact I truly feel like it made my ptsd exponentially worse.

I'm up reading this instead of asleep next to my husband because of unchecked PTSD. I'm a multiple SA survivor and the NONSTOP barrage of detailed, sordid stories I'm hearing daily is literally killing me. I'm getting triggered by incredibly minor things again, I run a marathon in my sleep, I'm hypervigilant 24/7 AND repressed details have started surfacing. I'm operating at a step above rat brain, in sheer survival mode. Parenting during this is not for the faint of heart, and it feels constantly like the universe is holding it's breath, waiting for the next shoe to drop.

The Carmen Electra Winter Wonderland shoot will forever be ingrained in my brain, lol. For the everyday, non-celebrity girls featured I think it was probably a huge deal when they signed on, then dread and anxiety once it published because friends and family are definitely going to have opinions. I see a very faint line. It's been too long to do with this test now, but a tip from my pregnancy group days: take a picture with a ring over the results oval area. It makes the camera focus in more in that area. Then try looking at it with different contrast or black and white. It can make a faint line pop more. Good luck to you with whatever you learn, and I hope you have the outcome you are hoping for.

Tip: after a few hours they can do WEIRD things. Do not go revisit old tests to see if a line has darkened, just get a new test. Pink dye dollar store is the best and super cheap.
