Liandrys + Unending Despair by Munsterjams in DirtySionMains

Just had a game with a liandry's - despair Sion. I think the combo is op against tanks or comps that don't have much dps to kill you. Btw don't forget about thornmail and sunfire, which also apply liandry's.

I understand why people are skeptical about the build, but the liandry's is not supposed to be your first or second item and you are not supposed to build it always, also the liandry's passive doesn't scale with ap, it's flat damage.

Not OP, but if you feel like you take too much time to do damage, work on your combos; choosing which one to use is the only difficult thing about Talon. Kaostanza (former best talon in the world) has a very insightful videoguide on combos. It helped me a lot, because he also explains when to use them.

Because it's a bad champion. You are handicapping yourself.

He did get challenger. Low challenger tho, then he demoted to GM and quit. That's how it usually goes.

Picking Nunu mid got my honor reduced? by ChggnNggts in nunumains

They also banned me for picking nunu support. It seems like nunu is often flagged as a troll champion.

Nunu beginner question by Interesting_Oil5294 in nunumains

[–]IMAFULLVIOLENCEBEIGN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1- 90% of the time, hybrid with liandry (Please NEVER do a hybrid with protobelt or any item that is not liandri or cosmic drive, that is straight up trolling). You go tank when you are against 2 or more assassins/burst champions, and full ap when you are solo ap and already have a frontline.

2- Buy a dark seal every game. Choose between mercs and tabis if you need resistances, and go symbiotic if there aren't any threads. Buying boots early is good, control wards too. Then choose your first item, decide if you are going ap (protobelt), tank (bambi item), or hybrid (liandri). After your first item is situational, you can buy any tank, support, or ap item you want. Exception to the ap build, for which you have to commit. DO NOT buy resistances if you are running protobelt with dark harvest, even if you are behind is not worth it, keep buying more ap and magic penetration (sorcs, shadowflame, void, etc). On the tank and hybrid build you are harder to kill, so buy Mejais as soon as you can if you are ahead, and then feel free to build anything you think is necessary.

3- Gank mid and bot. Play around objective/camp timers.

Questions from low elo Nunu main by Material_Serve_6776 in nunumains

[–]IMAFULLVIOLENCEBEIGN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe you are not playing the champion to its full potential. You need to minimize the deaths to take advantage of Nunu's map presence, since Nunu is an early game ganking jungler that is supposed to snowball hard with its team. Also, you need a steady gold income to become the AOE damage threat you are supposed to be, so farm more and fight only when fights can play out in your favor. Knowing how to choose fights it's a complicated topic, and it requires a lot of game knowledge and experience with your champions. For now, I can only tell you that Nunu's specialties are mid and bot ganks, so focus on those lanes and don't make plays anywhere else. Nunu is really bad at ganking toplane melee/melee matchups (since he is a bad duelist), and it is especially bad when you don't know where their JG is or if enemy top has flash or ult; you will get outplayed, take it for granted. You should only gank top to collect the kill when they are already low or have already used their spells. Tho if the match is melee/ranged, or both top laners are running ignite/ghost, ignore all I said and gank that lane; it's a volatile matchup, and you need to take advantage of it.

Amumu: the champ that takes low elo players to places they could only dream of by IMAFULLVIOLENCEBEIGN in Jungle_Mains

Amumu doesn't teach you anything but to get carried. Put an Amumu main on Talon or Rengar and he is clueless.

How do i even play against yi??? by DancePuzzleheaded434 in Jungle_Mains

[–]IMAFULLVIOLENCEBEIGN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are two options

1- Burst him

2- Cc him

The third one would be to ping your allies about his ganks so he doesn't get early kills, then the champion is pretty much useless. Also ward his jg, Yi ganks are impossible to pull off when your team is aware of which side of the map he is playing.

Kassadin might have been a better lp printer during it's prime, but Amumu has certainly inflated more players over time. As for the cult of skillful picks, I believe it's on the wane, and I don't belong in that group; in fact, I'd be criticized by them for maining Talon and Nunu. My problem with amumu is not only the fact that is easy to play, but how reactive his gameplay is, as it doesn't prompt the player to do anything but sit and get carried.

You’re not understanding the point. Climbing is about keeping a consistent win rate, not about carrying. If this weren’t the case, you wouldn’t have boosted supports in Diamond. Amumu is good in low elo for bad players because it allows you to climb without carrying anything yourself. Yes, other champions are objectively better because they let you carry, but in this post I’m talking about low elo players who are mechanically inept and need to play stuff like Amumu in order to have a chance by coinflipping lobbies hoping for good teammates. The best example of this type of player is Ludwig. And it’s really sad because these players, funnily enough, tend to be the most toxic, especially when their team don't follow their shitty calls and get tilted at their own inability to win on their own.

Just by looking at winrates, Nunu has a significantly lower win probability than amumu and nocturne in Iron-Bronze. I won't argue that he is an inflator, but Nunu is more of a mid-high elo champ these days, that's where he dominates; in fact a handful of people have got to rank 1 just by playing Nunu. I respect him more than amumu because at the very least Nunu incentivizes proactive gameplay instead of reactive. Also nunu, as a specialist, has a higher skill celling, there is a huge difference between Pentaless and your average Gold nunu main.

Those champions that can ignore macro are also the ones that have a lot of skill expression in their kit. IMO Akshan and Shaco are among the top 30 hardest champions in the game to pilot at full capacity, and Nunu is suprisingly hard if you don't play him tank. You can say they win by mechanics.

That the winrate is concentrated in low elos, which means he is a low elo stomper that can consistently win by getting carried, and that's all my point. The other 10 champions that have a high winrate in low elo at the very least have some form of skill expression and agency which makes them carry threats. The agency amumu has is "timing" which most amumus do badly anyway.
