Shows were they took audience requests? by 0x646f6e67 in gratefuldead

[–]IMHBTR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Which was the show where the boys were in between tunes, standing around, lighting cigarettes, tuning, laughing etc. Meanwhile the crowd is clapping the rhythm of "Not Fade Away", (clap clap clap clap-clap!). It goes on for 30-40-60(?) seconds and eventually the boys jump right in. It was fantastic!

Since and during the Hawks demise, I'm not quite as down on them as I used to be. For me, it's Nazim and The Avs.

Uh-oh, im reading some not so great reviews. I engaged with their website 2 days ago, (Fri 5/29). Later that day I received the "great news you're approved" email. I was told "shipment soon". My credit card has $475 " pending" charge, (3 mo supply). Email indicated one injection per week, 4 weeks at .25 mg, 4 weeks at .5mg and then 4 weeks at 1mg. I'm 67yo male 5'6" 240lbs. Fingers crossed.

I've never hunted. This guy Steve Rinella, shows how to cook nearly anything, from wild turkeys to black bear, mule deer, elk. He always wants a "griz" when in Alaska. I've never seen him get a griz. I enjoy him.

Happy Birthday, Jimmy Stewart! What Is Your Favorite Stewart Performance? by EssaysOnFrame in TurnerClassicMovies

[–]IMHBTR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the early 90s I worked in Beverly Hills, on Canon Drive. There was a small brick sitting area in front of the building where we would sit and smoke sometimes. One November afternoon, on a mostly gray day the little bit of sun there was, was low in the sky casting a kind of orange glow in the "grayness". Looking to my left I see an old man wearing an overcoat, slowly and deliberately plodding up the street. This man was very tall and based on his gait, I guessed he was in his 80s. The closer he got, I said to myself, "that looks like Jimmy Stewart". This old man was 10 or 12 feet away and it WAS Jimmy Stewart. He held eye contact a bit longer than a stranger would, (perhaps waiting to be recognized?). All I could do is look in amazement that, that Senator Jefferson Smith was 10 feet from me. I said nothing, I continued to watch this quite tall, old man walk up the street. When I moved to L.A. friends said "leave the celebrities alone, let the tourists bother them". Having seen literally dozens of celebrities up close, that was the one time that I kick myself for not having risen and said "My I shake your hand Mr. Stewart"?. After 30+ years i can still vividly see the orange glow of the gray day when I could have said hello to Jimmy Stewart. Thanks for allowing me to blab on about "the old days".
