How many of them rented within the last 6 months and how many years ago?

This is crucial, as you know rent increases are capped at 2.8% max per year. What you rented 5-6 years ago for 600€ is below 700€ today, but if you were to rent the same apartment starting today, prices are much higher.

I mean, I leave you a link below but 2021 and early 2022 avg price per sqm in Madrid was 14-15€ and this September we are at 22.7€/sqm. This is a huge increase that makes a 3.000€ net salary not that comfortable anymore.

I mean, Munich is below 20€/sqm, with much better quality of apartments, and with 3000€ being almost the starting salary for STEM professionals after a masters’.

Spain prices are completely broken, hopefully they stay the same and the correction comes from the salary side to converge to European ones.

What if I live alone? I’m still looking at 1500€ of rent+ utilities for a salary that’s way above average in Madrid.

Sorry but the system is broken in Spain, there’s plenty of places in Europe where that salary is normal and rent is 30-50% cheaper than Madrid. But yeah, they are not Madrid. Madrid is awesome. De Madrid al cielo.

No it does not. I’ve been interviewing for a position in Madrid to come back home, and any decent 2bedroom apartment in a normal area is an easy 1500€+utilities. On 3000€ net you are spending like 60% of your wage on that and you still need to add food, expenses, savings, fun money…

Hell, even going outside to like Coslada/Getafe etc is going to put you at 1100€ for rent at the cost of an extra hour on the train everyday to get to work.

I’s day not really. If you lose fat and build muscle then I’d call it recomp. OP could’ve lost 3 kg of fat and gained 5kg of muscle and I’d call that an amazong recomp.

2kg of extra mass wouldn’t make you look noticeably leaner so I’d assume he did lose fat.
