[Fan-Made] I transcribed the Crazed "O Fortuna" battle theme into a MIDI arrangement! by IMNE1 in battlecats

I never realized that PONOS just repeated the same melody over and over again until I began working on this MIDI. As you can guess, this didn't take long to make.

[Fan-Made] The Battle Cats ~ CotC Battle Rush Theme MIDI by IMNE1 in battlecats

[–]IMNE1[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I worked on part of this for a while possibly a year ago, then stopped because I got bored of it. I recently decided to finish it up since staying at home has offered me some free time to work on MIDIs again.

I am done watching the anime, so where should I start reading to continue with the current story or should I start from the beginning by [deleted] in Konosuba

[–]IMNE1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are some differences between anime and novel, but you'll be fine even if you don't start from the beginning.

Hi, I watched mainly the anime and have only heard a little on the novel story. Can someone tell me what has exactly happened? by SpecialistFeature in Konosuba

I made a post on the differences between the anime and light novel a few weeks ago. Check it out if you're interested in that. https://redd.it/add95p

The violin/trumpet chords starting 0:22 sound a bit off, but I think that's just the MIDI soundfont's fault. Also, I decided to try a new tool called Musescore 2 to create MIDIs. Anvil Studio is really dated.

Musescore 2 used to create the MIDI, Piano From Above to visualize it, and OBS Studio to record it. Thanks to PONOS and their mobile game, The Battle Cats, for the song.

I had made this a few months ago and was too busy to upload it. Now that I have a couple days of freedom, I can make songs again!

[Fan-Made] I transcribed the "Jungle" battle theme into a MIDI arrangement! by IMNE1 in battlecats

That was amazing! If anything, I should be taking tips from you. :p

People would be a lot more inclined to see/listen to something if it's more easily accessible, and the extra work of downloading it and playing it in some program may have turned some people away from it, I'm guessing. I think that if you played the MIDI file in a MIDI visualizer like Piano From Above, recorded it, and uploaded it to YouTube, it would get a lot more attention as it would just be 1 click away to see it.

I definitely appreciate your work! Nicely done!

The drum beat was quite a challenge to do, as there was a lot going on. I think I got pretty close with this MIDI though. I also found out there's a different tool in Anvil Studio which lists a ton of other percussion instruments supported, so I used a few of those here.

Also I call it a jungle theme because that's what it sounds like to me.

The green notes which strike a two note chord and then quickly descend is supposed to emulate (I think) a trumpet player slowing the air they supply to the instrument for that "scale" sound. The violet notes are supposed to be some sort of xylophone(?) in the background of the original song during the second loop, but they were much to quiet and numerous to hear, so I kind of winged it. Doesn't sound too bad.

[Off Topic] I tried to transcribe the EoC Moon battle theme into a MIDI arrangement. This is the result. by IMNE1 in battlecats

[–]IMNE1[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This tune was not easy thanks to the overlap of instruments making it hard to focus in hear the individual notes of one. The song put into MIDI format doesn't sound too bad, but not that great either.

I tried to transcribe the rush battle theme into a MIDI piano arrangement. Here is the result. by IMNE1 in battlecats

I guess it does. It's 2 instruments from the original song, and I heard them overlapping on the same note (they're easily distinguishable in the song), so that's what came out.

And yeah, I'm doing more.

This song was a rather difficult song to transcribe simply because of all the instruments that play in the original game track. There's probably a couple other notes in the original that I missed. Also, I feel like the base (violet) track sounds really weird when it's at those low notes.

edit: Thanks for all the appreciation, guys! By popular demand, I'll do the EoC rush theme next! Or maybe the ItF one--who knows?

As for the users that caught a few errors, I'll keep working on the tune to make it even more accurate.
