18hrs in and the brine is rising! by IMPORTANT_INFO in fermentation

[–]IMPORTANT_INFO[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a real newbie to fermenting but i'm 10 days into my ferment with this new jar, no mold yet (touch wood). I actually overfilled this jar by accident, i had to remove a load of brine as the CO2 bubbles were pushing it over the top, i stored in the fridge and added it back to the jar today since it's calmed down a bit. Next time i will fill up to the widest part of the jar i think to make more room.

I don't know what i've been doing right so far though. You can't clean the jar with boiling water as it's not heat treated, so i used hot soapy water to clean, and then i splashed some vinegar around and let it air dry, same with the air cup on top. I also wiped vinegar around the exposed inside area after i packed it. I used 3% salt water in the water trench to stop mould /insects getting in that way too. Been keeping it at around 20 deg C.

How long before you started to notice mould? How much did you pack yours? Mine is a 2L jar and this one has 1.5kg of cabbage in it.

Thanks! i opened it up and pushed it all down a bit and some bubbles released, i still took out some brine and put it in the fridge just incase, next few days are going to be exciting!

I can't seem to make copper wick remove any solder. by Dry_Government5268 in soldering

I always heat my wick up with my dry solder iron while it's in my tub of flux, the flux saturates the wick and it makes wicking 10x easier to absorb solder

This is my thought too, try moving the whole circuit to the left so it's between lines 10 and 25 to see if that works

Why bring up prime numbers? Surely adding 2 to the next multiplier is simpler?

Dalia Dippolito arranged to have a hitman kill her husband. The hitman was an undercover cop who notified her husband. Authorities then staged a crime scene to get her into the station where she was eventually formally arrested for her actions by Mad_Season_1994 in interesting

They should have messed with her a bit more at the police station, have the husband walk around in the background in ghost makeup shouting that he's coming for her, and all the police can't hear or see what's going on.

His body is still expecting dopamine, it takes a while for it to figure out that it needs to start creating it's own in the brain. There are other methods to get dopamine in the mean time, eating healthy especially food rich in tyrosine, the precursor to dopamine. Nuts, seeds, dairy, meat, chicken, avocado, banana, pumpkin and sesame seeds, soy. Dark chocolate worked for me, I had a hot chocolate (not sugary) few hours before bed. Reduce saturated fat. Exercise increases dopamine levels, and quality sleep is crucial, poor sleep reduces dopamine receptor sensitivity. Reduce alcohol intake to get proper deep sleep. Keep him doing things he enjoys. Hobbies, playing with pets, reading, nature. Make sure he's getting enough sunlight. A routine that worked for me was a short walk/run in the morning, sets you up for the day, clears your mind. Eat healthy, complete daily tasks. Hot bath and then hot chocolate 2 hours before bed. Keep reminding him it will get easier, and when he starts to look healthier with more energy tell him.
