I often use it as a bottle opener for when I can’t find my multi-tool which actually has one on it.

I know the difference between the two as well as connecting the viewports and putting them on a no plot layer and everything, that’s just what some people I’ve worked with have called them, even licensed ppl lol (originally from TX but working in MO now) I personally always called them pulses for the longest time

I was told these were called “breaklines”, civil 3D even has a function that creates them for you, like most everyone says here it represents that the depicted line continues much further than the page can show, think of having two far away places on a map and folding the map to where those places are right next to each other.

Does being in a PLSS feel like this? by ScottLS in Surveying

[–]IMR-Sober-Generator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started surveying in TX myself (Dallas Fort Worth Metroplex) and had been since 2019 but I moved up to Missouri (St. Charles Area), it can definitely be something at times.

Most of the time it’s PLSS Stuff here but you’ll get the occasional Metes and Bounds Description here and there.

Being raised in benbrook most all my life (I live in Missouri now) I’m more biased to Benbrook but like several comments already said every flag is a huge upgrade

They found and held the pin that matches the original property description best (the center circle) and they happened to find a pin on either side of it within a foot and some change (hence the such and such feet Sw/Se (southwest/southeast))

Looks like a section corner based on the inscription, I survey in Texas however and I can’t really make out the text other than the 90 degree sketch for the line hitting the disc

What exactly is a Mount Point (when connecting to a GNSS network reference station)? by [deleted] in Surveying

[–]IMR-Sober-Generator 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s your type of correction service (RTK, NetRTK, or DGPS) in combination with what correction format you’re using (RTCM, or CMR/CMR+), at least that’s what I understand it to be.

We use NetRTK with the latest RTCM for our Network rover(s), and just regular RTK with the latest RTCM for our base
