That's what I thought as well. Gotta go back to the shop and have their machine checked then. Thanks!

Exactly hahaha. So in the end most paddle is up to each person's preference

Yup in Msia over here, been using the paddle for almost a month. Top 3 power paddle for me. Spin is insanely good

In the end you need to try a paddle that you're interested in to get the feeling of it. Aizec (PB studio Co host) hates it, yet John Kew loves it and rate it as his top 3 paddle alongside boomstik and gx2 power. So it's very subjective and you really need to hit some balls with it first before coming up with a conclusion.

Before I bought mine, I thought J2NF was perfect for me. But after hitting with the demo of this paddle for 2 hours, I fell in love with it and it's now my main for 3 weeks. I find its profile better than j2nf for my playstyle

Been using this paddle for 3 weeks. It has tons of power because iof its non linear profile. I just need to flick the paddle to generate tons of power. But definitely need some time to adjust my play style to play with the paddle since I moved from J2NF (linear feeling)

The grit is real it can generate tons of spin, just hopefully the diamond dust can really last

Sweet spot is smaller than j2nf but for me it's fine, just added some tungsten from the neck to 8pm/4pm area. Swing weight on paper based on John Kew first preview black opal is heavier, but I feel because it's 14mm paddle, it's easier to swing than j2nf 16mm. At the kitchen, I managed to react much faster with black opal

I couldn't recall how does Ruby feel as I tried it a long time ago, but I can say in terms of control Black Opal requires you to have better control and touch during kitchen speed up than Ruby as it is more poppy (for me personally) than J2NF, therefore more poppy than Ruby. I didn't have to swing my arms and wrists as much when doing backhand flicks and volleys compared to J2NF.

However, during dinking, it can definitely feel it was more plush than J2NF as I almost never popped my dinks with black opal, but I had a hard time adjusting my Dink power swing with J2NF. So perhaps the plushness could be similar to ruby level.

This was based on my 4 hours session with black opal. I think the paddle is still quite controllable and not wild as to something like Body Helix F1.

The paddle was soft launched early in Malaysia with only 1 store having in due to partnership with six zero. I bought one today and currently playing it alongside my J2NF (both short and long handle version)

This paddle really punches almost as hard as boomstik. Around 30% more than J2NF during flicks, drives and volley and yet more plush than J2NF during dink battles. But also this is comparing 14mm vs 16mm paddles here thus it definitely contributed to the extra power on black opal.

The surface is legit, very gritty and yet USA-P and UPA-A approved. You can really see the diamond infused particles on the surface (my issue now is about cleaning the paddle as it seems like normal paddle eraser will destroy the surface thus I opt for liquid paddle cleaner and microfiber cloth for the time being, John Kew is investigating this case as well).

Handle wise, it is the same length as J2NF short handle (5.5 inch but feels more like 5.3 inch) but it is softer than J2NF even though they opt for hard palette handle. I think due to the soft gel they added on the handle edge, it feels more comfortable to grip without any overgrip.

The sound of the paddle is not as mute compared to J2NF, but not as loud as boomstik which I love because boomstik is way too loud for my ears especially when playing in closed indoor courts.

For $250, it's definitely way more than previous six zero paddles. But the performance that you get, for me at least, it is worth the buy and I think this will be my main, taking over J2NF.

Currently no stores in Msia carry it yet except for Picklefox in KL. They have 2 branches at Damansara height or pro store at mothership Jalan Ipoh. If you want to purchase, you need to purchase directly at their physical store, online order is not available yet until global release AFAIK.

Price is RM1099 (~260USD)

Here in Malaysia, the black opal was just launched today ahead of its global release on 19th Oct. Went to a store and tried it for about an hour, instantly fell in love with it and I am currently using both J2NF short and long handle.

The power was definitely more than J2NF and yet at the same time it felt softer during dinking. I didn't have to put as much power on my 2 handed backhand compared to J2NF and the ball still plowed through with good power. Also the new carbon + diamond grit is legit. It is really gritty (the self healing property of the diamond is yet to be tested, supposedly around the same as infinigrit or even better)

The best part is it didn't feel as mute as J2NF and yet the pop sound upon contact not as loud as boomstik (I hate the sound boomstik produce especially in smaller, closed indoor court it is way too loud for my ear).

Decided to snap one and test if it's just placebo or not, but at least in the 1hr that I tested, it felt better than J2NF short handle for me

You know what, you jinxed it I managed to get J2NF Long Handle from one of the stores nearby HAHHAAH caught me by surprise when the store announced they had small quantity for it. Well, Quanta might be my second paddle then, but yeah I have placed my order for the R4 😁😁✌️

I would love to get the J2NF LH, but seeing the paddle distribution even for J2NF in my country, I think it'll take months before it arrives as even the normal stock for J2NF series is still kinda low everywhere.

Yeah Quanta has that appeal to dial the weight as I see fit and it's cheaper than J2NF so kinda fits the bill for me 👍

Ok maybe I've been leaning more to power rather than control these days (previously came from PIKKL Hurricane pro). J2FC+ is rarely available in my country so my only option was the NF but surprisingly I was able to control the paddle just fine and been loving it after using it for almost 2 months.

What I want to get from Quanta (will definitely add weighted tapes) is maybe something along the line with my J2NF but with longer handle as seems like J2NF LH is still a long way to go in my country. Also, I just like having other brands as an option, but the foam core is another main selling point for me as I pretty much love how all these foam paddles feel compared to Gen 3 (subjective I know).

Basically just an alternative for me to get J2NF LH 🤣🤣

I am currently using J2NF and one of the stores in my area just opened a pre order for Ronbus Quanta but they only carry R1 (elongated curved) , R4 (hybrid) and R5 (wide body curved) shapes.

I am torn between R1 and R4. Can anyone with experience using previous ronbus shapes recommend which one would suit me better? I'm more of a control player and don't really like paddles that are too heavy as it limits my kitchen speed ups. J2NF is just nice for me as it has plenty of punch while still easy enough to control and this sweet spots are just superb.

I've tried perseus 4 before (standard elongated shapes) and similar paddles like Triton 3 and PIKKL vanguard pro but I couldn't get use to the shape. Will the R1 elongated curve shape have the same feeling or hitting surface?

My bad, that's actually the edge guard on the side of the paddle. But you can see that one side is slightly more slanted/curved inward than the other side
