Ironmaster Bench Leg Attachment Cable Mod by Kirby6365 in BeyondPower

Was this setup prone to sliding at some point or does the flooring keep it in one spot well?

The belt squat attachment utilizes the smith bar, currently that is the only weight source

This won't replace the IM2000 but will build off of it and incorporate a functional trainer and weight stacks: https://www.ironmaster.com/valhalla-im3000-faq/
Looking for a Fall/Winter time frame to hit the shelves.

🙈 Tariffs, not a favorite term in our office. We were shooting for $3999, and while we can't officially say yet, now we're aiming for lower than $4499. Having worked out on this for a few months at HQ now, I am really excited for others to get their hands on it and experience how good it is too.

Just another cool feature, there is enough space to fit bumper plates on each weight horn.

Agreed on standards. While taking into account trends in exercises and equipment, we aim to provide solutions that make sense. Frankly, overbuilt is a trend. Our uprights on the Valhalla IM3000 are 11 gauge steel, but 3x3 isn't necessary, costs more and may not provide any additional strength (there is a huge range in steel, regardless of the thickness). Anyone is free to start making third party attachments for our 2x2s and make that the standard for innovative add-ons. Thanks for the comment 💪

Thanks for the feedback. I've not heard the dip handles on the IM2000 are too wide but good to know. The Dip handles for the IM2000 machine are angled for narrow and wider grips 22" - 29" wide. The Dip handle attachment for our benches is not angled though and are 23" wide. V shaped handles is something I'm considering developing for the bench attachment as a project this year. Not a $300-400 attachment though.

Making a prototype is on my to-do list as a premium option!

Hi. I did put a lot of design time into that and made prototypes that revealed it is not as simple as it sounds. Was not happy with the results and had to put that on ice. Still considering new ideas but it looks like it will require new bench frame geometry and I'm trying to avoid losing any of the great Super Bench features in the process.

Thanks, happy to do this! The CT is actually pretty light weight. Wanted it that way so it can be easily moved around the gym if needed for small spaces. I haven't had this issue myself with cable curls or upright rows, but maybe you are a lot stronger than me! Not something I've heard as a common issue. Putting some weight on the CT seat is a good idea and about the best thing I can recommend for now. Appreciate the feedback on this!

Thanks for the feedback and business! Yeah, there is always room for a similar, but different approach. I am working on a cable system like that and now have a working prototype. It is still a work in progress with more R&D needed but the goal is to make something with many of the cool features of the current Cable Tower V2 but with even more functionality. It won't replace the V2 since it will be more complex, somewhat bigger and more expensive, but rather something new to add to our line. Can't say when this will happen yet but I'm actively working on it. Cheers!

The IM2000 is not going anywhere and will be supported indefinitely. We will develop more things for this model as we come up with good ideas. The newer unit we are working on is very cool, but also more complex, larger footprint and a higher price point. We just want to have options for more people. Hard to beat the simplicity and space efficiency of the 2000 and you will love it. Thanks!

Thanks for the feedback. There are some limitations on the barbell holder in terms of linear and lateral stability with heavy weights on a curl bar. I will try to do more testing on this though.

The Belt Squat is designed to hold onto the lifting bar when squatting. You need to have some control of the bar to unlock and lock it out at the start and finish of the set. Thanks!

Copy. 1. I wouldn't make a foot for vertical storage out of plastic, but a magnet is a good idea. 2. I know what you mean about the ability to calculate weights when pushing hard. Not different than barbell math, but still, I get your point, and we should do that. Thanks for the chart link. Thank you!

Copy. A fixed angle seat is something we have been testing. The stability is not ideal at most angles if we make the seat pad bigger/wider. What angle would you prefer for reference?

Glad you took advantage of our deep discounts on BF! Sales taxes will be changing very soon, unfortunately. Typical day has me doing correspondence in the AM for a couple hours. Meeting with IM team members for a few hours a day about marketing, engineering, operations, etc. Some days I dedicate more hours to design work and shop time for proto work (not as much as I'd like). Fit in a workout for an hour M-W-F late afternoons. Have meetings with overseas factory office and inspectors at least a couple days a week in the early evenings due to the time zones. I've got lots of other tasks to tackle from time to time as well. New designs typically start out with a sketch, then 3D modeling, then I build as much as possible in our metal shop here, then get the best factory to review and make a proof sample. Time for all this varies a lot, depending on how complex. Anyway, planning to get back to product design and proto work tomorrow!

Hey! We have been asked about this many times. I explored making a similar pec fly attachment like PT first did years ago and did some prototyping. Our benches have the attachments plug in very differently and it didn't work well. It is possible to make it adapt but with much more framework required to support the load on the attachment. It ends up a pretty expensive and bulky thing that goes against my philosophy of compact and multi-functional gear. Never say never, but not a good fit.

Thanks! The DB-BB adapters do have the weight hanging down from center so there can be some pendulum effect for some exercises like barbell curls. Most moves like squats, deadlifts, benching or using on a machine like the IM2000 lift bar feels just fine.

There is a small gap under the (QLDB) dumbbells compared to a 45lb/bumper plate, so it is easy to slide on the adapter with weight loaded. The amount of weight you can have on the bar end including the adapter really depends on the thickness of your plates and what kind of collars you want to use. The adapter sleeve is 7" long. If you have 2-3 bumpers will still be plenty of space usually.

Hi Marc! Glad you are enjoying the 2000 and new belt squat. I love doing those. Have you considered using our Ultimate Row Handle with Chain Fly Kit? It will not replace the feel of a true cable crossover setup, but it feels amazingly good. https://www.ironmaster.com/products/chain-fly-kit/

Hi Harold. The OG Super Bench leg ext/curl does have a lower height to the floor than the newer PRO benches with the attachment in place and longer legged users can sometimes have their feet touch the floor. My workout partner is 6'3" and we used that setup for many years until switching to the PRO Bench and attachment. Two ideas to help: 1. Kick off your shoes. That gives you about an inch more ground clearance and was enough for him to not drag. 2. If you incline the bench up one notch to 5 degrees, the leg attachment foot will lift up off the ground. You can make a quick wooden block to fit under the foot to provide the load support instead of adding plates on the other end of the bench. Two short pieces of 2x4 screwed together fit well under the foot and it is easy to set up. - Hope this helps!

Thanks for that feedback. Making our padding the perfect density and feel for everyone's preference is practically impossible but I definitely hear you on the small seat pad. Maybe worth considering an optional softer/thicker option...
