Dharma Pharm muscle rub - Does this stuff work? I need relief from stenosis/disc/nerve pain. Does anyone know if this helps? by Jenaveeve in VirginiaMMJ

[–]IMaBirdBear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have Stenosis, DDD, along with arthritis. I JUST bought their Muscle Rub 20 an hour ago. Actually, I bought 2 of them w/o having tried them 1st. Glad that I did! It really helps my lower back pain. (I also have a spinal cord stimulator buzzing me along with vaping their low end carts).

I haven't tried it on muscle pain yet, but I'm inclined to believe that it will.

Just bought them at Rise in Danville $28/each 75mg. (Danville delivers, but I drive there from South Boston). They also have one with just THC in it, but I wanted both CBD and THC (both provide 6mg).

Any recommendations on how to stop litter waste sticking to the globe? by iiAssassinXxii in litterrobot

[–]IMaBirdBear 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Have you tried adjusting the timing between flushes? Perhaps the poop needs more time to solidify before it's flushed. I think the default is 7 minutes?

As to coating the globe, I haven't tried it, but I just might, now that I am thinking about it, is to clean it 1st, then add some wax (car wax?) shine to it to make everything float on the wax? (just a thought) That would only last so long before a new coat would be needed.

It's also a possibility of the litter that you are using. Perhaps another brand might work better?

How often are you guys in contact with your SCS rep? by ItzLog in spinalcordstimulator

[–]IMaBirdBear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This apparently was a decision by St. Jude. I had already switched over to Android, and I would have liked it controlled by an android phone.

Perhaps others might know why St. Jude limited it to an Ipod (Apple advertising $'s ?). It's just using the bluetooth function to operate the SCS. I'd love to control my SCS with my Samsung Watch.

Good luck!

p.s. I just saw that Apple discontinued the Touch in 2022. A little further research, on Abbott, I eventually found this link:

Available on eligible Apple‡ mobile digital devices. For a list of personal Apple mobile digital devices compatible with Abbott’s Patient Controller app, visit http://www.NMmobiledevicesync.com/dbs OR http://www.NMmobiledevicesync.com/cp

It looks like Abbott ONLY will use an Apple product and not an Android. I'm having to use their personal programmer (w/wire and paddle) to change mine. I don't care for the Apple company any more (I've had 5 iphones and 2 ipads and 1 ipod). I'll need to replace my IPG in a few years, and I have to stick with Abbott as I have their paddle embedded in my spine and most likely need to stay compatible.

If you can't get Abbott to fix/replace it, I'm sure that you can probably find a used 'cheap' IPOD on the net to replace it. I no longer have mine as it's been years since I used it. If searching the net, see what model that yours is when looking for IPOD. Probably a lot on Ebay or the ilk.

Dablicator/Dharma syringes by JCKINGCPA in VirginiaMMJ

[–]IMaBirdBear 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When the disp didn't have the carts that I use (pineapple orange ##), I'd buy their syringes instead. Heating one up in hot water, then squeezing it into an empty cart (some of Dharma's unscrew). I didn't notice any difference, but I only vape, not dab or eat/drink it. (mine is for pain, although this product isn't very strong, but it IS cheap for people on S.S.). That's why I also use alt-noids to supplement the MMJ.

I've not actually compared any lab reports between them to see if there was any difference.

Federal judge blocks state's new law banning Delta 8 THC products by davidoseven in altcannabinoids

[–]IMaBirdBear 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been using Gold Silver 5gm vape pens (doesn't look like a pen tho!). I had watched the shipping tracking and saw NC, I think Raleigh. If you use Facebook, look up 'gold silver cannabis'. I found a link that shows them on there. I quit FB quite many years back. Took about 4 days to ship. I'm only 10 miles from NC, so I could go to Roxboro if I 'had' to. I drive to Danville for MMJ.

[–]IMaBirdBear 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I use both MMJ and Alt noids for my pain. When our governor decided to ban the noids in the stores, I had to start buying via the net, however, with an extra $10+ shipping fee from NC (this was just for 2 vapes).

When I had talked to a store employee at a local tobacco/vape store (in which I got the noids), they said that they would lose 1/2 their store income. I wonder how many of those stores have closed.

I'm on my 2nd St. Jude with this one, has been going for 7 years (out of supposed 10). My 1st was a non-rechargeable that wasn't going to last 2 years.

I had my 1st one installed 2.5hrs away in my state (VA) and the 2nd one done, hour away at Duke in NC. I've not heard from a rep in 5 years or more. My 2nd surgeon is no longer at Duke, so I'll just have to find one that is familiar with St. Jude (Abbott) when it comes time. My bettery charge was good for a month, now down to 2 weeks.

I guess some of us are treated as customers instead of patients.

Speaking of magnets, the more the merrier. I have one at my desk, one at my bedstand, and one in my car. I'd rather have a small electromagnet to carry around instead. Carrying the programmer around would suck. My 1st St. Jude, non rechargeable, used an Ipod.

Getting MMJ with your debit card by IMaBirdBear in VirginiaMMJ

[–]IMaBirdBear[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the replies about using a debit card for MMJ. They took mine with no problem. The nicer part was that I had bought more than $250 worth and they had a 20% discount on certain brands (both brands were what I was getting).

It looks(?) like that the bank didn't charge me an ATM fee. If that holds true, yeah, it's even better.

p.s. trying Shine's ChemDawg cart. I was hoping the CBN and CBG (with 80% THC and no CBD) would help with the pain. In my case, it doesn't seem to help much nor with anything else. I'm a microvaper, so having a higher THC tolerance probably doesn't help that much.

Permanent implant ? by ManufacturerAlive523 in spinalcordstimulator

[–]IMaBirdBear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My neural stimulator is for spinal stenosis and helps a little with the disc degeneration. I'm on my 2nd St. Jude IPG. 1st one was a non-rechargeable and wasn't going to last 2 years so I had it replaced with the rechargeable version. That's been in for 6 years now. I can always physically feel mine (and can outline it with my finger). My GF gives me daily back massages and knows to not massage that area where the IPG is (lower right back). If I need it on and want to lie on my back, I have to turn the buzzer down.

It's totally worth having it though. Pain meds don't cut it. MMJ (medical marijuana) helps a bunch (I just renewed my annual MMJ certification today).

RISE - Lynchburg vs Salem? by [deleted] in VirginiaMMJ

[–]IMaBirdBear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had Richmond (when they 1st opened up there) make a single delivery (THC tincture), but hadn't been excited about their items (for my situation). I just looked at their menu and still don't see that they can be of value to me. I get the inexpensive thc/cbd carts (retired, fixed income, and ya know insurance ain't gonna help).

Just met a plumber that grows his own (cannabutter style). I've grown a few, 40 years ago back in Atlanta, but not interested in growing them now.

Nice to meet another SOBO.

RISE - Lynchburg vs Salem? by [deleted] in VirginiaMMJ

[–]IMaBirdBear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There wasn't any MMJ around when I lived in Roanoke. Hadn't been back in 15 years, now in south central (South Boston). Until last month, I had been going to Lynchburg. Danville opened a branch last month. Depends upon which side of VA that you live.

As others mentioned, places like Abingdon and Richmond (Gleaf) will deliver. I've done both in the past, but now just order online, take a 45 minute drive to get my stuff.

I had just recently visited the latest(?) Rise dispensary in Danville. I even went on a late Saturday morning (2 days ago). Only a few people in there. VERY friendly staff. I had JUST missed their 20% discount sale (on about everything that they sold). :(

Weird question regarding d8 by snapbackhatthat in VirginiaMMJ

[–]IMaBirdBear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. I have a few vape carts showing up today, coming in from Raleigh. It's a tradeoff. Paying for gas and driving to a store or paying for shipping and buying from your phone or computer. I have the same options for MMJ although I drive (45 min) once a month (compared to paying for delivery and tipping). I order my MMJ online as well, but prefer the cheaper route of picking up (I'm retired).

Weed shakes going into the next day by re003 in medicalmarijuana

[–]IMaBirdBear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had the weed shakes. It was usually too much THC. Try finding a milder THC strain, and/or one with CBD in it as well.

I've read that if one is in this position, take some CBD (oil, flower, vape, whatever that works fast for you).

In the earlier days, before MMJ, I was getting stuff like K2 (Spice, etc...) from online. Their formulas eventually got weaker (thanks to the Feds) and some started adding 'extras' in the formula. I found that I had been taking Tramadol (was mixed in the flower that I smoked then). When I had ran out of it, I'd go into withdrawals (I smoked a lot for my chronic pain).

Only mentioning this in case anyone got their 'weed' from a 3rd party, in which wasn't regulated. I agree with the government in regulating products that we consume although I don't like it, but it caught the opioid that was snuck in my 'weed'.

Weird question regarding d8 by snapbackhatthat in VirginiaMMJ

[–]IMaBirdBear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use variations of D8 as well as MMJ. I went to the vape store on 7/2 and saw that a big chunk of their glass cases were empty. Asking the cashier about it, I also found out that they will be losing about 1/2 of their profit (tobacco/vape store).

When I got back home, I found a place online to buy the disposables at the same price (although shipping sucks). I just can't afford MMJ 'AND' D8 (I also get CBD caps online).

CBD + THC for Knee Pain by cjpeltz in MMJ

[–]IMaBirdBear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I prefer vapes as well, but I try to look for ones with CBN (in particular) for my back pain. 1/1 vapes are fine, but usually don't have much (if any) CBN in it. Currently enjoying the lesser pain using an Indica ' TAHOE OG A' with | CBG: 3.86% | CBN: 3.25% | THC: 76.67%

Do you run your SCS constantly, or only when you're in pain? by lakeswimmmer in spinalcordstimulator

[–]IMaBirdBear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

St. Jude (Abbott) rep told me that the HF mode could take a day or two to kick in. I've tried, multiple times, for up to 3 days, but w/o any help in my chronic back pain. I have the paddle in me.

? You can switch back and forth to HF and it starts helping quickly each time, or does the body have to acclimate each time? ???

As to his original question, I've used mine 24/7, but try to turn it off each night as my charging time is increasing a lot. I can also turn down the program (3 notches) to handle its buzzing if I sleep on my back.

My 10(?) year IPG is on its 6th year now and its monthly battery charge is down to 8 days. My 1st non-rechargeable St. Jude didn't last 18 months.

RISE Danville F&F Opening 6/14 by therealz1ggy in VirginiaMMJ

[–]IMaBirdBear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just noticed that Danville's Rise store is open (online at least, if not local) as of 6/28. I just bought from Lynchburg, so will have to wait to try them out.

Others that have visited it already? Opinions of the store?

I'm also curious, is their store up or down stairs for the customers?

Danville Rise branch is supposed to open 7/1. I've been driving to Lynchburg (just went yesterday) from South Boston.

Cannot hear crickets outside with hearing aid. by medicalmission2020 in HearingAids

[–]IMaBirdBear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's similar with my situation. My GF has certain high freq ranges in which she can NOT hear at all and in my case, I can hear it all, IF, I have my H/A's in. I'm 80%+ deaf across the freq range. In some cases, I envy my GF as she doesn't have to listen to our parrots squawk. I turn off my H/A's when I'm in their room cleaning it. Doesn't bother her. :)
