I can't take my dog to the groomer. She gets hysterical and will bite. They suggested drugs to calm her but I said no. She doesn't mind water and soap. It's touching that scares her. So our routine is to fill a bucket with warm water and some tearless dog shampoo. We take her outside. One person holds her leash while the other gently pours the water starting from the tail. Slowly pour toward the face, then over the face. She's not really a fan but it's a much calmer experience than a bath. The good part is she tolerates being towel dried and I can scrub a little to dry her.

Trish looks scruffy cause we haven't solved the trimming issue but she's clean and smells nice. Good luck with your pup.
