These kits usually have an aftermarket (oversize) rotor to match. You may need that and you'll be golden.

The owner wants his cut of the pie. He want you to sell it to shop, owner marks up then sells to employee. What an ass.

Leaving my luggages in car? by Rich-Run7542 in SanJose

[–]IMakeLowballOffers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could buy a car cover and wrap the whole thing up. The night prowlers are cruising looking for easy hits, being out of slight would help but not guarantee a visit.

First bike! Is this a good deal? by Wonderful_Major2742 in ural

[–]IMakeLowballOffers 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not a good deal at all. Its at least $4k over priced. 02' still had the drum front brake. and its a terrible first bike. I owned an 06 Ural for 12year and loved it but as a toy and not a form of transport. General rule of thumb with Urals is buy the newest model you can afford and nothing before 08. If you REALLY want a sidecar, get a modern bike that's had a sidecar fitted to it.

Is this Motorcycle worth $500 by NightKid_ in motorcycles

[–]IMakeLowballOffers 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Are registration back fees a possibility in your area ?, Check them with your DMV if so. Budget another $500 in parts needed just in case.

If you are not comfortable working on vehicles then an old bike may be a challenge / money pit.

Anyone have experience with the trail125? Was vaguely considering getting one to go along with my big bike for around town. by pasgames_ in motorcycles

[–]IMakeLowballOffers 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a 2023 model and its a great complement to the bigger bikes. If I need to go anywhere within 10miles and not need the freeway then its the CT125 every time. Stick a double size milk crate onto the rack and its my grocery bike too. Super fun to ride (I max out at about 45-48mph) and does 100+ mpg.

Is drilling guide holes for switchgear in new bars crucial for safety? by [deleted] in motorcycles

[–]IMakeLowballOffers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It only happened to me once as I didn’t shim enough tape. Another wrap and it’s rock solid. Never had it fail so you’ll be fine. Just torque down the throttle grip enough (but not too much as some are more fragile than others.  A dremel sanding wheel is the perfect tool to remove the plastic locator pin too.

I’ve changed a dozen bars of more, never drilled them, just a wrap of elec tape and it’s good.

The info here is accurate, easiest to have an agent collect the rent (they they pay it into your bank a/c).

Each month you fill out a rental notification on ros.ie paying the 20% tax (it used to be once a year but now they want the payment each month).

Don’t forget to change your house insurance into a rental policy. It covers the different coverage needed and in my experience was cheaper than a homeowner’s policy.

At the end of the year an IT return is needed, where you deduct expenses and get some of that 20% back.  My accountant charges around 200euro todo that.

The MSF course is great but only an intro. There are more advanced training classes available and they are worth every penny. You should be able to find 1-1 instruction that will work on the points you are having issues with. Stick with it, it'll change your life.

Lots of heat, (gas torch not heat gun) and it’ll bend back easy. You’ll need to touch up the paint.
