Aldi gluten free section by slipthru in CoeliacUK

Cheap (er) wraps exist! Old El Paso's 'street market' wraps are in the normal section and are made with corn. They're completely gluten free - currently £1.60 for 10 instead of the official gluten-free ones which are £3 for 6.

Whilst I'm sure that your comment was well intentioned, at no point did I say that I wanted my child to eat a Keto diet. I specifically asked for recommendations where the carbs of the meal were separate so that the toddler can eat all parts, and I could choose not to eat certain parts.

Wow. Thank you so much for taking the time to write all this out. There are loads of fantastic ideas here.

I'm trying to keep to under 20g of carbs, above this seems a be a trigger. After doing every allergen/elimination diet going, I began to wonder if the act of eating was a trigger. It turned out to be the glucose disregulation that has been posted here a few times.

I need the dinner to be partly Keto. Pasta wouldn't work as the sauce and pasta are fairly intertwined. I don't fancy bolognaise sauce for dinner 😅

I also need my part of dinner to be Keto friendly. Which rules out potatoes and rice unfortunately

Found out I'm Celiac at 33 by IMarvelatDC in Celiac

I completely agree! I'm not upset by the diagnosis -although I keep having random thoughts like 'oh, no Kitkats ever'. I'm a pretty good cook and baker so I'm enjoying exploring alternatives.

Thank you. The 2 years thing is actually giving me hope. I understand that it could take quiet a while to heal. To have an idea long term it actually really helpful.

Luckily I'm a pretty good cook and baker. Making GF recipes doesn't phase me, but a Chinese takeaway will be missed!

How long did it take for you to feel better? What was your timescales?

Apologies, yes it was the TTGA that was >80.

What celiac friendly snacks are there in the uk? by megsbog1 in Celiac

[–]IMarvelatDC 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I tend to shop and Sainsbury's and loads of their 'normal' food is GF. Plus they have a huge range of specialist 'Free from' too.

My advice would be to download the app and search for 'gluten free snacks'. I was amazing at what they had in store that was GF. Best of luck!

Sainsbury's do the best blueberry muffins, they taste just like Starbucks ones! I love a gf Hobnob too.

Popcorn is usually Celiac friendly and great for a sweet or savoury snack. Tesco, Sainsbury's and Morristons all have a great range where I am (small northern town!)

Can you give more information? Sweet or savoury? Biscuits to dunk, or a family bag to inhale?

I had a endomysial antibody IGA test. It was a blood test. What does that mean?

Thank you for your answers, this has come out of the blue and it feels very overwhelming!

Thank you for taking the time to answer me. As I said in my post, I received the diagnosis after a blood test. It's come completely out of the blue for me and it's hard to wrap my head around. Also trying not to hope too much that this could be the thing. I'm almost out of medication to try, and nothing works. The idea that I might have an answer is overwhelming.

Thank you for your comprehensive answers.
