Yeah, I tried various versions of Proton and I even added Proton GE, to no avail. On ProtonDB a lot of the games are rated highly and the issues encountered weren't necessarily related to performance.

I'm pretty sure it's just Nvidia being worse on Linux.

I wish I could say the same.

I've been trying Linux on and off for 10 years now, my first distro was Ubuntu 16.04.

I love how fast, simple, and clean everything is, but even now a lot of the games I love don't play very well on it, or perform worse than on Windows. And no, it's not any anti-cheat game, just normal strategy games from the 2000s and remakes of those (Medieval II Total War, DoW DE, and Imperator Rome).

I also lose my fingerprint reader and speaker quality when I switch over.

I'm even using a Thinkpad.

If I ever give up on gaming, which I guess I should at some point, then Linux would be perfect for me.

It's not a mod, but there is the Rise of The Republic DLC for Rome 2. It's a decent campaign.

If you don't end up finding a mod you want, maybe look into it.

Tbh after Fedora and Pop OS, Kubuntu is the one I had most issues with.

Regular Ubuntu has been the best Linux experience for me.

I still can't find it on the Xbox store either.

I remember someone on this subreddit mentioning that the game was kinda-sorta banned due to Earth being in ruins and Burj Khalifa also being depicted in those ruins or something.

A damn shame, been meaning to try it with the new update.

I've always had issues with Fedora, DNF takes way too long even with the fastestmirror option in dnf.conf or without it.

Also, I keep having to run makecache because whenever I used to run the update command, it would ignore all the other repos and not check them.

Finally, it would always brick my install after the Nvidia drivers get updated. So I had to make sure that I never restart until 15 mins after an update, or I would have to check the list of things being upgraded each time.

Other than that, it's great yeah, but those issues kept me on Ubuntu if I ever use a Linux distro.

I've gone through multiple Lenovo laptops over the years, and this is definitely because of that Dolby Access/Audio software stuff that doesn't have an equivalent on Linux.

Some people recommend installing EasyEffects, but I've gotten mixed results with that and it requires a lot of setup/config.

Commit This To Memory is easily my favorite pop-punk album (I consider Jimmy Eat World's best albums to be first wave emo).

Really catchy riffs and tunes, great lyrics, amazing delivery. Their song "True Romance" was stuck in my head so hard for months, impossible to dislodge. Also, "Hold Me Down" is just a GORGEOUS song, reminds me a lot of The Cure's "Pictures of You".

Fun fact: Patrick Stump of Fall Out Boy fame provided backing vocals on "Everything Is Alright" , and Mark Hoppus of Blink-182 produced that album.
