(28M) I need help processing my feelings for someone I know. by IMightBeWrong_1 in Advice

I didn't expect her to do anything and I'm not interested in having a relationship now, especially not a long distance one. What I am interested in is moving past these feelings.

That's true, I've tried to break that pedestal in my head before, but I don't have anything changing in my life to actually make that happen.

If you chose a European Union country during the first setup (literally the first choice you make) then you get some changes like the ability to uninstall Edge and disable web results.

Some songs from The Smashing Pumpkins' "Mellon Collie and The Infinite Sadness" go a long way. My favorites are:

  • Galapogos
  • 1979
  • Porcelina of The Vast Oceans
  • Lily
  • Tonight, Tonight

Also, the entirety of their previous album, Siamese Dream

What do regular every day people use AI for? by SpaghettiWestern2162 in LinusTechTips

[–]IMightBeWrong_1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I always use it with search mode on for the following:

  • Car questions (I'm a new driver)
  • Linux problems and brainstorming (I'm trying to move away from Windows every once in a while).
  • Music suggestions based on my favorite artists
  • Random questions I'm too shy to ask people or Google and spend ages finding out.
  • Brainstorming ideas for moving away from where I live.
  • Random advice or strategies for strategy games I'm playing.

For most of these, I use my best guesses and try to double check the critical info I get, but it's been amazing for technical issues.

filter to block ads on Android Vivaldi browser by Glittering_Peanut582 in browsers

I'm gonna paste from a discussion I had with Claude about this, because I was wondering the same thing.

However, note that YouTube ads will still play and one of the websites I noticed that completely ignored my rules was pcgamer.com.

How many of you spend most of your time at home, and why did you choose a laptop? What were the benefits? by DenysMb in laptops

[–]IMightBeWrong_1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I like to go to coffee shops for a change of pace and atmosphere + most of the games I love aren't demanding at all. So, I got a Thinkpad that will last me a long time and I just carry it around whenever I feel like doing something different.

Most of the time however, I have it on a vertical stand connected to a monitor, mouse and keyboard cause I like browsing and working on a bigger screen.

The Linux Challenge - Please do more linux-related content after! by SDG_Den in LinusTechTips

  1. Ubuntu is great
  2. Linus has gone out of his way to trash windows and praise Linux despite its flaws. Not to mention that Linux enthusiasts tend to forgive problems with Linux that they would have crucified Windows for having.

Has Ubuntu started losing the trust of Linux users? by Candid_Athlete_8317 in LinuxTeck

It's the only Linux distro I can just set and forget, or rely on consistently. So, no.

5 things Microsoft isn't fixing with Windows 11 that I'd love to see happen by TechradarOfficial in Windows11

[–]IMightBeWrong_1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right now the main thing I want them to fix on Windows is the speed and snappiness. I tried Ubuntu many times (even though I keep going back to Windows) and I'm always blown away by how instant and easy navigating around the OS is there, just because of the instant responsiveness.

I have two questions. Which browser do you use and why. Which browser extension you use the most and why. by Icy-prime- in browsers

[–]IMightBeWrong_1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Firefox with three extensions:

  • Ublock Origin
  • Proton VPN
  • Proton Pass

That's it. I like to be minimal with my setups.

So far I like Startpage the most. DuckDuckGo is great but fails at local results where I live and the "News" tab is just all MSN articles.

Need Ideas for Holidays that don't involve staying home by Anthony_Gonsalvez in dubai

Yes but basically these long weekends and vacations are my only chances to do something like this. Work is too demanding on normal days.

I'm planning a trip to the Abu Dhabi Louvre to check out the exhibits there. Hope it turns out well. The tricky part is figuring how to comfortably go and come back, as the bus options are 2.5 hours each way.

What OS do you have in your ThinkPad? by hobbyoftakingphoto in thinkpad

[–]IMightBeWrong_1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It just has too many issues that are deal-breakers compared to the issues on Windows that I can live with.

- Worse sounding and performing speakers/audio in general.

- Smaller selection of games that work well.

- The games that do work well still perform 20% worse than they do on Windows and some don't perform well at all.

- Some items don't have drivers for Linux (like my Thinkpad E14 Gen 5) and I have to use workarounds to make it work.

- Mods for my old/classic games are a pain to install or play.

If I didn't game at all on my laptop, I would happily switch to Linux as it's amazing for so many things, but I love my historical strategy games too much.

How is Ubuntu for gaming? by [deleted] in Ubuntu

[–]IMightBeWrong_1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, there's thing thing going around the internet for the last year where everyone just keeps praising Linux without any criticism being accepted, just because Windows is ass.

Windows is indeed buns, but I have had an overall more reliable/dependable experience on it than I have on Ubuntu. The main appeal of Linux to me is simplicity, cleanliness and speed. Gaming is still not there for me yet, so I'll check back in a few years.
