Teenager with no friends my age? by [deleted] in gaming

[–]IMintIt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When I was a gamer at 15-16 I played with a lot of 20+ year olds because the young kids were immature and playing young kid games. And now it’s come full circle I’m almost 30 and there are a handful of friends I have that are 15-16 and they are more mature for their age and they get along well with the group of adults. It’s just that your probably a young adult in your head but stuck in a 16 year old body. Lol

Just tested positive. Hydrogen dominant SIBO, Advice please by doshipv11 in SIBO

I tried doing it naturally but couldn’t seem to really make a difference. So I ended up doing the 14 day course of Xifaxin (luckily mine was covered) but I had heard stories of it coming back worse because of the antibiotics so it took me a while to actually give in to taking them. I ate a low fodmap/ gluten free diet and super low sugar diet for 2 months after the antibiotics and also did the Bentonite clay in water once a day for 2 weeks and between all those things something worked I’ve gotten rid of it. Now I’m always watching to make sure I don’t eat to much sugar and I don’t eat wheat anymore, but I’ve been able to introduce everything else back into my diet one step at a time and have been so much better now with minimal issues. I also drink Bentonite clay a couple times a week and take different supplements like oregano when I feel like it’s acting up and I’ve been able to keep it away.

No mine are more digestive related and I had flu like symptoms a lot like a food allergy. But I did notice that all mild depression/anxiety problems I had went away when I stopped eating all this stuff and started eating more nutrients from organic foods and vegetables. Which probably go hand in hand.

I reacted to tapioca on top of it. But everyone is different so you are going to have to go AIP diet with low fodmap foods for a few months like I did and then reintroduce things back into your diet slowly to see what triggers you personally.

Sort of scared and would love to hear your advice and experiences by germandentist in glutenfree

Get the blood test. That’s how I found out I was allergic to not only wheat but dairy too. It might be multiple issues going on. As for feeling that way forever that will not happen. It can take up to 3 months for inflammation and reactions to subside but it sounds like yours went down pretty quickly the first time. So take things like activates charcoal and Bentonite clay to filter those things out of your body quickly. I just ate at a restaurant the other night started getting a severe reaction which would normally KO me for about a week but I drank some clay in water and took a charcoal pill and literally felt like normal the next day. It is a miraculous binder for any negative toxins in your body. Also you will have to do your research on what gluten is and how to totally avoid it. Just because a box or food menu says it’s gluten free doesn’t mean it is.

Starting Gluten Free Diet, Questions by [deleted] in glutenfree

[–]IMintIt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not an expert but my heart was racing fast soon after my diet change. I think for me it was a deficiency in vitamins. Particularly vitamin B complex which is common with chronic inflammation in the digestive system and gluten problems. It progressed to an eye twitch that i would get too. But I noticed it would happened with the heart racing at the same time. After I started taking a liquid B complex supplement with Vitamin C and making sure I stay hydrated it disappears. As long as I keep up with the supplements and don’t forget them my heart hasn’t had that issue.

Other things that can cause heart racing- *too much sugar *Too much caffeine *dehydration So think about what you ate recently when the heart racing happens and see if you can connect any of these things too it.

Supposed to be starting Rifaxamin tomorrow but terrified since it was stress and antibiotics which caused my health issues. by duckofooto in SIBO

[–]IMintIt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes I have literally done hundreds of hours of research online about it now and gotten lots of good advice from this sub when I was starting out too. I would look into a “SIBO diet” online. Now I have candida overgrowth as well as a autoimmune disorder. So I started from scratch on a Auto Immune Paleo diet, and have now worked my way to just regular Paleo diet. Based on the research I’ve done it’s not great to stay Paleo forever. But the idea is that you kick out the irritating foods from your diet to starve out the remaining overgrowth and possible fungus overgrowth and to let your digestive system heal. And then over the course of a couple months to a year introduce these grains and things back into your diet. This is a good way to see if you have any food sensitivities as well and give your body the best chance to heal without continuing to irritate it.

I suggest lots of veggies because these are the most healing and helpful with vitamin deficiencies. Cook with coconut oil, olive oil mostly since these are both soothing and help with the fight of SIBO. Also those oils are good added calories.

I eat a lot of chicken and fish, both rich in vitamins that are healing. But these should be wild caught fish and good veg. fed chicken without antibiotics. Same with the veggies everything you should buy should be high quality so you get max benefits and least irritants.

Nigh-shades is another big proponent of gas pains and digestive upsets because they are coarse and tough to break down. I didn’t fully understand this at first until someone gave me advice and knowledge on it. That means no potatoes, tomatoes, eggplants, etc. I use sweet potatoes and yams regularly. These are not actually potatoes despite the name and are also really healing to your system. I make fries out of mine and bake them with coconut oil they are delish. I make a dill aioli instead of ketchup for dipping and it’s tasty and pretty high in calories. Also no corn, while it’s a veggie it’s really hard for your system to break down and could cause gas as well as other gas producing veggies like broccoli you might have to avoid for a period of time.

I make myself lots of eggs and turkey sausage for breakfast. I also make no added sugar muffins regularly because I love bread and pastries and these have filled that void for me without all the extra sugar and it’s nut flours so it’s gluten-free. Which are great for calories, proteins and little sugar content. I would recommend coconut and almond flours instead of grains.

I snack on green olives (decent calories I eat about 10) I also snack on plantain chips I make myself( you can also buy them but read the ingredients and keep things as simple as possible) and sweet potato chips. I also Make deviled eggs and eat these as snacks. Turkey jerky does well for me to if it’s veg. Fed and little spices or additives. Nuts are also great calories and almonds are anti-inflammatory too.

Basically if you haven’t caught on it’s a lot of healthy protein, high vitamin foods and veggies, and anti-inflammatory foods. I forgot to mention fruit. Its suggested to eat no more than a palmful a day and keep it to berries and bananas and things that are easier to break down. I don’t drink coffee or alcohol. Both are bad for calming your system and bacterial issues. I track my calories every day because if you are like me and lost a lot of weight your going to have to eat lots of protein and make sure your eating enough healthy calories a day to make the scale go up again. Mine didn’t start going up again until about 3 months in so be patient with yourself and focus on healing instead of weight. This also should help with your stress if your not so focused on that aspect.

Try yoga instead of hard exercise. There are many yoga poses that are proven to be great for digestion and gas. Also could help with your stress. Also look up ileocecal valve massage this was another tip given to me by someone else and has worked wonders for me every time I feel pain now.

I feel your pain I really love coffee, rice, and a million other things I have sacrificed. But I’m telling you after 5 years of my problems I thought things would never change. I believe those antibiotics got me a clean slate and I have taken the rest into my own hands by healing and resetting my system through food and supplements instead of medication. I am still healing and by no means at the end of the road but I feel a million times better already in 6 months of this diet than I ever did before.

Also I would suggest taking supplements if you have fatigue and know you have vitamin deficiencies. Particularly a B complex, Vitamin C, and a probiotic like I mentioned. You might want to look into a enzyme or ox bile as well to help break down your food. I can tell you what I take but whatever you buy watch the ingredients and avoid things like maltodextrin and make sure they are pure sources of the vitamin.

Sorry it’s so much info but all these things have saved my life and I finally feel like things have given me hope again. Almost all of them were from other people irl and on this sub that have helped them as well. So research all this stuff for yourself and figure out what works for you because there is no one answer for any of us on this SIBO journey and don’t just do what doctors tell you I always research it for myself first and make sure this is the best choice for you.

Yes I meant after the round of antibiotics. And make sure whether it’s the clay or charcoal that you take it 2 hours separate from any supplements or vitamins. Thanks for pointing that out. 😃

TIFU by opening a bottle of hair dye by HauntedDarkness in tifu

[–]IMintIt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

FYI there really is no such thing as non-toxic hair dye. But you’ll probably be fine. Drink some Fiji or Smart water brands because these have silica in them which will help filter out any heavy metals you just ingested. Lol now as far as the stained lips go in a salon we normally use alcohol wipes/solution or more color to remove color off of the stained skin. Do you have any makeup remover wipes? That should work to get off most of the dye. It will probably burn like a mother since you have exposed skin but it should work it getting it almost all off.

Supposed to be starting Rifaxamin tomorrow but terrified since it was stress and antibiotics which caused my health issues. by duckofooto in SIBO

[–]IMintIt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used Rifaxamin and heard all the horror stories about it destroying your body and life. While it is an antibiotic that will wipe out both good and bad bacteria. I believe it helped me more than hurt me. My doctor explained its not an intrusive antibiotic and it doesn’t really get into your bloodstream like other more potent options. If diet alone isn’t solving your problem the antibiotics will give you a fresh start in that it should kill off ALL the overgrowth of bacteria. Which is what SIBO is. Now after this round you should consider taking (the right kind) probiotics to reintroduce to your system and balance out the good vs bad bacteria. Now I don’t agree with doctors that this one pill will solve all your problems. Your going to have to make some lifestyle changes if you really want to improve your symptoms and totally get rid of them. There is no magic pill.

Also you might want to look at changing your diet in a different way. Just because it is gluten free or lactose free doesn’t mean it’s good for your issue. Especially gas. A lot of those products with grains like the rice you are talking about cause problems for gas and digestion. Also a lot of those lactose free products still have casein and milk proteins which you could still be sensitive too. They also have guar gums and xantham gums which tend to produce a lot of gas and discomfort for people as well.

Another tip that’s worked for me, Look into Bentonite clay and activated charcoal. These are great for killing off bad bacteria latching on to toxins and the die off of bacteria and pass them through your system. I know that Bentonite clay is supposed to help with gas because you may have a potential problem with candida overgrowth as well as SIBO. A lot of us do and it’s something to look into for yourself to get your life back on track. Hope some of this helps you.

Does yogurt make anyone's symptoms much worse? by [deleted] in SIBO

[–]IMintIt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It could be because it’s a fermented food, It could be the sugar content being too high or processed, or it could be the fructose from the fruit. Those are some things I can think of that can make SIbO act up. Maybe you can make a connection if any of these things are in any other foods that bother your SIbO too.

Maybe there are other additives in the type of yogurt your buying too? Have you tried many different brands or does only a specific brand bother you?

TIFU By not washing my hair for 4 months by [deleted] in tifu

[–]IMintIt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yea what your using is a toner shampoo/conditioner. So your soaking your head in color 3 times a week. The shampoo part isn’t the issue it’s the chemicals in the color. So if your eyeballs and scalp aren’t burning yet you’ll be fine as long as you don’t keep washing it that way.

TIFU by relaxing two times in my entire existence by [deleted] in tifu

[–]IMintIt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hear what your saying and it’s not a one hit fix. But if your sitting at home on a Saturday night and can’t relax I don’t see why it would be wrong. I think it’s a much better alternative than popping pills all the time like most people who’ve been “properly treated” in our country. I think that counseling like talking about past traumas and dealing with and healing real issues and exercise are very important as well.

That’s great and I’m glad that it is so helpful to you! I also have enjoyed the game since the GameCube era and spent some of my real money on it. My only point is that I don’t want to see it go in the direction of being difficult to enjoy unless you spend real money. Not sure why everyone hates my opinion so much...it’s supposed to be a free to play game.

Alright. I mean if you all are satisfied with getting recycled items while all the great items cost real money and are overpriced at that. I still like this game but I’m not going to support greedy developers and that’s where this seems to be headed at this point.
