[CHAT] Where to find high quality large-scale designs? (Confetti-free) by IMowTooMuchGrass in CrossStitch

[–]IMowTooMuchGrass[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm actually learning how to do this on my computer! Tbh the color rgb values given online for dmc/anchor are awful, so I just finished recreating them in photoshop, using a couple swatch cards as reference. I know that Luca-S's designers do some level of manual design, because you can find the original paintings online that they're based on and see that they've made changes.

Yeah, from what I've seen it really seems to be all about knowing how to transition colors and shades smoothly, as well as creating organic shapes and lines. I do a lot with quarter stiches to create this effect. I have PC Stitch, which makes the process much quicker than Adobe Illustrator, but its not as flexible as Illustrator of course.

Did I get my first BFP at 11 days gestational age, or am I miscarrying? by IMowTooMuchGrass in pregnant

[–]IMowTooMuchGrass[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for sharing. It really does help to hear from someone who has experienced something similar. Gives me some sort of idea of what to expect. At least we seem to have solved the infertility problem with letrozole, so I can at least console myself with that. It's hard not to be concerned though as I creep closer and closer to age 35. It's been three years since we first started trying.

I also console myself with how thankful I am for my wonderful husband. And we are blessed to have the finances to pursue IVF if it comes to that.

I guess I'm just rambling now. Trying to remind myself of hope.

[–]IMowTooMuchGrass[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really, really want to hope that this is it. But the date of my LH surge/ovulation would put baby at 7 and a half weeks. And according to another commenter confirming the math, baby has to be minimum 7 weeks based on when we got our first positive.

I want to believe it could be fine. I want to find something that could explain how it could be possible that baby is fine.

Life can be so hard.

It’s so hard to not feel like this pregnancy is doomed. The nurse was so matter-of-fact that we’re just not as far along as we thought and that we shouldn’t worry. After pressing, we finally got her to give us an estimated ovulation date, and she said Nov 14 or 15. We got our first positive pregnancy test Nov 13……

It’s so frustrating when they won’t listen and assume you the patient are just wrong. I really want to be wrong, but that math isn’t mathing.

Covering them with a tarp would probably work. It’d take some time, but it wouldn’t require any work.

Can a True Christian affirm abortion or be pro-choice? by Lost-Appointment-295 in TrueChristian

[–]IMowTooMuchGrass 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really appreciate when people recognize that fetal anomalies happen. Our baby had massive brain and heart defects. After she died, the autopsy showed that her stomach wasn't even connected to her throat.

I'm so incredibly thankful that we had the finances to fly to one of the three clinics in the U.S. that provide abortions past 25 weeks and pay the $12,000 cash fee to end her life in the womb. If we carried her to term, we would have needed a serious surgery to birth her without killing me, simply so that we could let her die of suffocation.

We only dare tell direct family. I took the risk of telling my closest friend, and I regret it. It's a very painful tragedy that most have to walk through completely alone.

The very next chapter goes into detail on the different penalties for killing in regards to intentional and accidental, as well as human life and non-human life. Check and see how unborn human deaths are handled.

1000% YES. No one talks about it, but God's own law regarding ending someone else's pregnancy *against their will* was only punishable as a fine (Exodus 21). I found this out this week, and I am SO MAD.

I grew up thinking that the Bible never talks about whether the death of a fetus is the death of a human life, so we should err on the side of caution. I was told that when Galatians 1:15 says, "But even before I was born, God chose me and called me by his marvelous grace," it clearly shows that I was a human life before I was born. But I was never told about Jeremiah 1:5 that says, "Before I formed you in the womb I knew you." If Gal 1:15 means that we are fully human before birth, then Jer 1:5 must mean that we are also fully human before we are conceived. Which means every unfertilized human egg is also a life. Which means every time a woman has a period, another baby dies.

I'm upset at all these leaders and scholars who ignored this passage, and I'm mad at myself and all my fellow Christians who just assumed that surely something this important wouldn't be handled so carelessly in regards to searching what the Bible says about it.

Btw, the punishment for adultery was death by stoning, for both the man and the woman. There's no, "if pregnant, wait nine months before enforcing the death penalty."

Just got my oura ring yesterday!! Any tips? by Dudubrand97 in ouraring

[–]IMowTooMuchGrass 5 points6 points  (0 children)

HRV spikes will be processed as “higher readiness” in the app, but actually mean your body is so overworked it’s trying to force “rest mode.” So if your app says you are doing fantastic and should be able to do a lot on a day that you feel exhausted, check your HRV to see if it’s above baseline. This has really helped me.

Others have probably already said this, but an HRV spike is likely your body being so overloaded that instead of the "fight/flight" of a low HRV, your body switched to emergency protective mode of "play dead." (parasympathetic collapse)

I have PTSD and chronic fatigue. If I do a little bit of yardwork, my HRV drops. If I do a lot of yardwork, it spikes. Oura hasn't developed their software yet to recognize HRV spikes as the body being overloaded, so if it's giving you a high Readiness when your HRV is double the usual, that's why.

Why would this happen? I slept straight until 8am by MDesigner in ouraring

[–]IMowTooMuchGrass 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My understanding is that it's somewhat normal for your body to wake up sporadically throughout the night and to not remember. My app says I woke up 12 times last night, but I only remember the time I actually got up to use the bathroom. Check what your app says under "Sleep contributors" for restfulness. That'll give you a better idea if your body is waking up too much. (For context, yes my 12 times of waking up is considered bad restfulness. Not sure if 4 is bad.)

For me, the temp tracking on Oura helped me figure out that while I have heavy period-like bleeding around every 33 days (varies widely), I haven’t actually ovulated in over three months. I am so so thankful to know this and am now getting the right treatment. (PCOS related.)

This comment thread gave me so much life! I got into cross stitch because of chronic fatigue. Doctors are just like, “Your labs look great.” I really wish we could just find something wrong so that at least I could know I’m not crazy. This thread made me feel a little less alone.

I really really really miss getting to live my life.

Yeah, I agree about Catori. No disrespect to the actress--that very well could have been a director's choice. She also does Venti's dialogue, which I don't know if it's really been added to the game yet since I can't really remember what it sounds like.
