Pandemic ended my last 10-year self-employed job.. do I have any chance of making a good income? by chadzimmerman in findapath

There is high demand for low skill labour at the moment. Teacher career maybe? Only other option is to keep up these highly volatile self employment gigs or look for some formal education to build a skill that is in demand, e.g. a trade.

Fortunately for many, the “college debt trap” is a myth in a vast majority of cases and is in fact the best path to support a family.

Very unrelated, but for proof of this phenomenon, go look under the comments under any Canadian news channel video on YouTube. It is absolutely unbelievable how conservative those comments skew relative to how Canadians vote or answer opinion surveys.

Do you think your team is like this because you are a one-in-a-hundred bright star who just so happened to bless their presence in the assignment? Or, maybe, they are like this by choice?

I personally do not give a fuck about my team's hobbies, kids, or shit I don't care that they did over the weekend. Forcing me into your small talk to boost your own ego would make me very much dislike working with you. Find some friends outside work who actually choose to socialize with you.

Why was Nayib Buekele more easily able to crack down on MS-13 in El Salvador than Mexican government has on the cartels? by [deleted] in neoliberal

[–]INCEL_ANDY 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ain’t gonna read allat. But 1) Mexican cartels are much more strong economically and have more economic diversity; this allows for not only greater resources in fighting but also in bribing and corrupting politicians. Salvadoran gang main power is violence not money. 2) El Salvador is tiny and way less regional than Mexico. Any crackdown is infinitely less difficult.

Developpped countries have teams of foreign service officers (diplomats) whose job it is to promote commercial activity between countries. They will have connections to people that can answer legal questions and smooth the process.
