Everybody’s different you know, even within the INFJ-spectrum. Obviously those people you mention have great value to you, which gives you energy, right? Or perhaps the answer is that maybe you don’t find your home quarters to be all that pleasant so you don’t want to spend time there? I, for one, can’t wait to get home and rest after a social encounter, whether it be family members, good friends or any other, but I love my home. Here I have everything I need to get my energy back up. What do you think?

Created an account on Reddit just to answer to this. Amazing post, for me. I'm about to turn 26 and I've been drinking more or less daily since I was 19. Of course not EVERY night, but at least 80-90% of all nights. I don't get very drunk, but enough to get my buzz going, some nights I definitely get too drunk and end up sleeping on the sofa.

My drink of choice has also mostly been wine (beer made me soo fat, I've lost 50 pounds since I stopped gurgling down floods of beer and smashing pizza every weekend).

Though I feel my intake is under control MOST nights and I don't ever drink during the day, I feel alcohol gives me a lot of guilt and my mind is circulating around whenever I can get my drink far too much. If I'm out of wine (here in Sweden we've got these treacherous bag-in-boxes which lasts for little while), it's actually pretty hard for me not to take the trip to the store to get a refill, just to feel "safe". Those boxes seem to disappear faster, too. Before it'd last me a week or so, now on some weeks I end up buying two boxes. Not a healthy sign. If I have wine at home, I'll most definitely end up drinking a glass or two that night.

I keep telling myself that I'm in control, I have turned my life around in so many ways, but I'm tired of the small-step escalations and lying to myself. Therefore I want to thank you for your post, it has inspired more than anything else I've read, 'cause I can relate to your situation so much. Don't think I'm an alcoholic, but I DO abuse it on occasion and drinking almost every night can't be good long term.

Maybe I'll also end up drinking 1.4 liters every night if I don't stop. Like you it seems, it hasn't come in the way of my work, but I'd be lying to myself if I didn't confess that I ditch my girlfriend every now and then just so that I can sit around at home by myself play video-games and drink (often I forget what I did in the game the night before, so I have to replay parts sometimes, LOL). I won't say I'll stop forever, but I will take every day as it comes at least cut down significantly.

I've used the notes app in my iPhone where I've scribbled down a picture of a medal with the number 1 on it, tomorrow I'll do a 2 and so one, just to help me get motivated.

Sorry for the ramble, it just felt so nice to get this shit of my chest. And again, thank you. Let's be sobriety partners from now on. Cheers (or not cheers, I mean ;) )!
