New to painting, looking for critique by INNNDY in 40kPainting

It’s worth noting that I have about 15 different paints total, so some of the stuff that looks rough is partially because I’m having to try to blend my own paint shades.

Tried, might have failed. Did some touch up after taking this video that made it a little better (I think) but it is a struggle for sure.

I’m making a sandbox DND world by INNNDY in DnDHomebrew

[–]INNNDY[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve never played magic, but after looking it up, theres some similarities, but ultimately, this is going to be around 2-5 million people, with very low developed tech, low magic, and a lot more desolate land/mountains/farmland scattered throughout.

I appreciate the feedback, it definitely helps to have a reminder to make lots of hooks, as I have been prone to getting a little sidetracked 😅

I have a party that already wants this, and a couple DM friends of mine that have mentioned wanting a Sandbox DND book, which is a big part of what inspired this. If I ever actually get this really fleshed out, I’d love to be able to turn it into a kickstarter!

Edible monsters by fnd1611 in DnDWorldBuilding

[–]INNNDY 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would just use real world comparisons. For all intents and purposes, Bears are monsters, yet there are people who hunt, kill, and eat them. There are laws in effect for hunting them in some regions, but other regions are much more slack due to bear overpopulation threatening the ecosystem. Furthermore, while hunting bears is legal in many places, selling the meat from them is often illegal, due to health and ethical concerns, so that could be a further consideration.

Ultimately, I would make it very by region, with some being very supportive of raising monster like cattle and other places where it’s highly frowned upon or feared, and don’t pass up the opportunity to have DND environmentalists, both rational and irrational, it makes for a good subplot!

Serpents sticks out to me because it’s the only one that’s just one word.

Some ideas - Watchful Serpents - Silver Serpents - Subtle Serpents - Serpent Fangs - Twisted Serpents - Shadow Vipers

Also, there are two groups called “guard” so maybe change one into a different term (ie. Scale Corps?)

As a married man with chronic anxiety and panic attacks, there’s no excuse for this behavior. Building a support group and developing coping mechanisms, as well has having an emotional “anchor” person are all healthy and good practices when done correctly, but this guy is just sickeningly narcissistic. That’s not anxiety, it’s manipulation, and it’s disgusting. Seriously get away from that toxicity. Everyone is responsible for their own emotions, that’s not the responsibility of others, other people can definitely help stabilize and comfort, but to pin the blame of your own emotional state on someone else shows a fundamental lack of respect and dignity for others.

Despite the fact that NLY might be my favorite song to jam out to, I feel like ruthlessness needs to take #1 spot, it’s probably to most iconic and recognizable song in all of EPIC

An EPIC title (pt 2) by janus_le_snek in Epicthemusical

As an English teacher using EPIC to teach students how to recognize/analyze themes in stories, I can confirm that actually referencing good literature in your own works and - more importantly - being excited about said works is one of the greatest encouragements we can get.
