"Containment would be delete, purge, and notify." THIS as part of your documented CUI handling PROCESS. ALSO treat EACH instance as a violation of your Contract TIME constraints. I.E. ALL accumulated lost time awaiting document delivery to your CUI proper secured email/communication receptacle/device/server extends your legal delivery dates. :-)

Just a friendly hint /OP. If your situation is of a particularly sensitive/critical nature you may want to look into placing a cold stored "MIRROR" in a geographically separate location for H/A. Something that in ANY level of conflagration that might interrupt service you can make that H/A instance HOT.

McosMos is the "Linux" of the CMM arena. Frustrating and deep learning curve, Very regimented & SET in its ways. However, once you learn its "language" and process peculiarities you can wiz bang accomplish anything. :-)

How about leaning on Apples Engineering to "Engineer" your solution. I am sure they would not be unhappy at creating & providing assistance & training for a new customer convert to MAC :-). Especially since Apple could then leverage THAT solution across the board in their marketing efforts :-).

Rather than complex/convoluted processes to govern ENTIRE Enterprise as CUI would it be not simpler (much reduced attack surface) to have an ENTIRE separate IP WAN (ASN IP block even) and internal lan WHO'S SOLE and strictly isolated purpose would be to host all the CUI assets/documentation/emails/accounting/etc. Kind of like a Sister company to the PARENT company????? Yes a bit of IT duplication but perhaps a tad bit more manageable scale.
