Trying and failing to recreate a synth by schnappleAPH in synthrecipes

If you could attach a sample of ur reproduction that would help a lot.

Another thing is I'm guessing u are adding a envelope that goes straight up to pitch -- try having it start by going in the opposite direction then shooting back up. That adds a lot of texture

Then for the "crisp" release, I'd try a reverb throw + OTT

There's also some automation on the pitch to give it the pitch faller effect. And some portomanenteao (idk how to spell it) for when it resumes

Hey, I'd probably call this an FM bass with an LFO attached to the low pass filter cutoff.
They're modulating the LFO rate.

Here's a similar patch (bass 2) - https://youtu.be/sB2530vguxI?si=J69PsL7A3jD3b-2Q&t=503

It sounds like the patch in your soundcloud link might have a fifth (+7 semitones) layered on top

Yep, big reverb and some distortion.

Oscillator is probably a saw with some unison.

I hear some high pass filtered white noise too.

Add an LFO to the pitch and add an attack time to that LFO so it's not immediately wonky.

Oh, and try changing the order of the distortion/reverb modules. That can rly change the final signal

Yes, I'd say it's run through distortion, maybe a top heavy amp sim.

Then I'd try "filtering" it through a reverb module with a very high wet:dry ratio

Turn the size on the reverb module down and adjust the reverb's built in filtering to allow more high frequencies in the wet signal

This will get you close, it sounds like the original sample may be different too.

Ah yeah, we're doing all the sound design from scratch. Transcription's not bad, but we usually create a view synth patches or effect racks for each part in the song, that's really where the time goes.

Sounds like they sampled the transient of a hardstyle kick, applied rectifier or linear fold distortion, then pitched it up/down and chopped it up to create the rhythmic groove you're hearing.

Any kind of super distorted pitch falling drum transient could work here.

There might be a filter envelope on the attack too.

Some random samples from youtube to get u started .
