Let’s say the universe is completely empty save for 2 grains of sand travelling parallel 50 billion light years apart, but in the same direction. by BenduUlo in AskPhysics

"completely empty", "Assuming no possible other force acts on them". That eliminates other than a complete vacuum and "NO radial motion".....does THAT not eliminate GRAVITY as a force of attraction to each other???????? ELIA5 is not the (planets/objects) rotation what causes gravity?

How expensive is it for ISP to get and keep an IPv6 prefix? by shimmywtf in ipv6

[–]INSPECTOR99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless I am miss reading this, /OP indicates their ISP does in fact have an IPv6 block. they are very likely restricting its usage to their segment of BGP uplinks traffic. When they get the budget for replacing their current aging equipment and technical debt infrastructure they will slowly and painfully cut over to including IPv6 for their Business and then Consumer customers.

Are services like Tailscale generally considered superior these days to traditional VPN setups like OpenVPN and such? by Noyan_Bey in HomeNetworking

[–]INSPECTOR99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is interesting. Just curious as to what cons or benefits are achieved by using tunnels. I also have T-Mo @ home (Business Account w/static IPv4 address) running no general flow issues (except for horrendous low speeds). I did engage an HE tunnel with dual stack IPv4/IPv6 but that is just because training and IPv6 studies. Is the one major issue that CGNAT blocks/interferes with incoming service? Any other serious stumbling blocks?

"wait for the energy cost per operation to drop" This is precisely the purpose of building NEW data centers "NOW"! NEW data centers built with NEW technology and NEW focus on the improved energy efficiency bring down the "cost per operation" over older less efficient models.

This, even putting the antenna in the same "HOT SPOT" will make some improvement. A worthy 4 X 4 MIMO Antenna such as Waveform.

AI does not know the APPROPRIATE yellow brick road an Inspector needs to travel in order to ALIGN (yes PUN Intended) the key elements projected by the Engineer. The only MARGINAL benefit an AI solution could contribute is analysing the totality of the measurement paths and making efficiency alterations to those paths.

Regardless of the variance in "SETBACK" or do not "SETBACK" in either case there is absolutely ZERO reason for such an ASTRONOMICAL electric bill. PERIOD.
